Lol. Flyers fans are hurting big time that's why. Holmgren traded carter an richards who are now champions. Now he's stuck with a mediocre goalie and is throwing 9 figures at parise and weber. Seems desparate as hell to me. And I absolutely love it.its not the way to build a championship team but it may keep him employed a little longer.

L'agent de Shane Doan me confirme qu'il a parlé à Marc Bergevin récemment et que "le CH est vraiment dans le coup" #Habs

Bryz had a 2.48 GAA last year the exact same number he had in Phoenix the year before that, he can get the job done for sure

Shane Doan would be a major step backwards for the Habs. He is everything we don't need.

Our team is rich as **** and can afford to do it, so why not. He's like a 2nd Erik Cole. Only bad thing about Shane Doan is his creepy jesus-freakness, but that doesn't affect his hockey playing abilities. If Bergevin gets Doan, I'll be stunned and celebrating with many beers.

The Jesus part is neither good nor bad imo. It's irrelevant to hockey.

Bottom line is Habs are a rebuilding team that just finished last. Doan is an overrated player who is in the twilight of his career. He's not 32 like Cole was when we signed him, rather he is 35 and will be turning 36 in October, at the start of the season. He's averaged 20 goals and 55 points and is on his way down. We don't need him.

With Doan, we'll go from being a 15th place team to being a 12th place team this year, and then back to a 15th place team soon after as the aging process accelerates.

If Bergevin wants to start building the team now, he should go for someone younger and better, like Semin. Or, he should keep doing what he's doing and let the rebuilding year happen.

How do you know if he's a creepy Jesus-freak? He doesn't use twitter or any media source to try and preach. He's a long serving captain and no ex-teammate has ever said anything bad about him. He's simply a family man that believes in God.

I'd prefer Bergevin to stay away from Doan. The Habs are far from being a team that needs just one more veteran to put them over the top. They need more building blocks and they should preserve their room under the cap for productive veterans who aren't nearing the end of their careers. I approved of trading Gill before it was too late to get as much as a second rounder for him.

The Flyers got a great player at a position they had to bolster because of Pronger's uncertain status and he'll start to pay dividends immediately. If Pronger somehow makes it back (which I doubt), they'll be a formidable team. Let's see how those four first rounders turn out. If the Preds get three regulars out of them, then they've at least broken even while saving a lot of money. If they flop, the fans will turn on Poile.

Are you on drugs? Semin instead of Doan is like choosing Daigle over Chara....who would you rather have. Give it up with these heartless Europeans. Doan actually plays with heart and adds much needed grit.

bryzgalov is a mess, but they won both the carter and richards trade. People need to start watching hockey and realize that carter and richards were second line players on a stanley cup team that was led by team defense, a goalie that made no mistakes and a first line that created offense every game.

You are accusing people of being on drugs and in the same breath u say getting Semin over Doan is like getting DAIGLE instead of CHARA? Your analogy is hands down the worst I've ever seen. I can't help but wonder if you truly believe that or if your simply regurgitating whatever garbage your boy pierre McGuire is spitting out.

Did I miss something? As Poile announced his decision to match or not?

What?

Zdeno Chara was born and raised in Slovakia. He was married in Slovakia. He plays for the Slovak national hockey team. He is 100% European.
