Yes, he's familiar to us as well. Ok, more like for the Aeros.

Speaking of which, my bet was that I wear a Lapanta avatar for three months, however, there's no reason that I can't change it to a different picture of Lapanta. It's been a little over a month now so here's the new Lapanta avatar I'll be sporting for the next month or so:

Want me to photoshop something silly into that picture?

WE BETTER FIND SOMETHING FOR BRUNO! When he's done though, I hope he still gets one more shot at the Cup, but when he does hang them up either coaching or TV you know he will excel at it, and I just hope it is with us.

I picked the silliest Lapanta face I could find. There was a better one of him at a Twins game but it was just a little too small.

Either that or he was just told that LaPanta was promoted to Wild play-by-play announcer.

In the long run, I think that extension will pay off for the Canes.

The only thing is, it's kind of like signing Bouchard to a deal like that when he was in the league. Well more his third year. Skinner is a bit small and had already dealt with one concussion.

Should have been closer to $5M IMO. He's still way young to give a big contract too, especially after the concussion.

I'm thinking around 4-5 million myself. Not 5-6 million. Not a big difference but a difference. It'll also make contracts harder around the league. Ugh. Granlund's second year contract?

Kinda scary that a 2nd-line, concussed, 1-way, long ways from UFA 2-year veteran gets nearly 6 million a season.

Yup. Contracts coming off ELC's are looking more like UFA contracts. 2nd deals used to look more like the 1st- now they're looking like the 3rd.

Reading about the supposed rumor of JBow to Detroit and I had to go look up his stats.

First thing that jumped out to me on wikipedia:

Never made the playoffs in the NHL. Made it once in the AHL, played 18 games and had Zero points. Okay, he's definitely not a playoff guy

Second, I saw that he hasn't missed a game since the 03/04 season. Damn. That's awesome.

In 58 career international games, he has a measly 14 points. lol.

This guy...he was drafted third overall? I mean, that draft sucked, for the most part, but drafted after him was: PMB, Lupul, Ryan Whitney, Semin, Keith, Cam Ward, Harding, and Wideman. But seriously...wow.

You can certainly understand why he was drafted so high; 6'4 point per game defenseman aren't easy to come by in the Dub. He's a workhorse though and you have to respect that, but it's incredible how much his goal scoring has dropped off since he came to Calgary. It has to be disappointing for the Flames and their fans.

That's okay, Detroit won't have to worry about his performance in the playoffs.
