He's a little more likeable already, even if he is on a rival team.

One year ago today a plane carrying #KHL's Lokomotiv crashed. The KHL will never play any games on this day.

I remember last year just being stunned, just couldn't believe it. RiP Pavol and all the others who lost their lives that day.

Still very sad. Heart goes out to the families that lost their fathers, husbands, sons, and brothers.

Some damned appeals court overturned the suspensions of several Aint's players for their bounty program that killed Favre's ankle during the NFC championship game.
I am very annoyed.

Obligatory
Casey Wellman article. This one sees him ranked as the 19th-best in the Florida Panthers organization under 25.

Casually looking through some signings I'd missed from the past month, I came across this little nugget: Chicago has 8 defensemen under contract (7 one way plus Leddy). Of those defensemen, 5 have some form of NTC or NMC, and two were ineligible to receive one.
Also, I'm surprised no one mentioned that Detroit signed Carlo Colaiacovo (2x$2.5MM).

I could see Chicago falling into a flux similar to the situation Calgary is in now. At least the hawks won a cup, though. Chicago needs a shakeup of some sort. The team they have now is not going to win anything. And now they have the inability to fix most of it.

Doubt that Chicago falls into Calgary territory.. They have Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Sharp, etc. If they were to trade any one of them, which they might have to, they would get a nice return of young players, picks and cap space.
Calgary has Iginla, Kipper, no centers and a revolving door of other players.
