I saw a ton of NHL 13 posters all over now taking pre orders for the game which is to be released on 9/11/12.
The posters didn't have giroux on them which i thought was a suprised, my guess those posters were sent out before he got on the game or they haven't shot his cover yet i don't know.
Anyway's I put my 60.00 down, and will pick it up on 9/11.
Not sure if any of you are planning to get the game, but they are taking pre orders.
also I traded in 3 ps3 games, and got an extra 20% trade in credit and put toward the new game.
check the ad's in the paper or gamestop.com for coupons and stuff like that.

for some reason that particular store the desk is all the way in the back.
so i noticed the clerk had the 4 posters of it up behind the register area.
so I was like whoah, your the first store that i seen has this up. he said the philly stores are promoting it a bit early since a flyer is on this years cover.
gamestop is hoping this market will sell alot more copies.

your right, and i was trying not to make it seem like im explaning how gamestop works as if no one ever been in one.
But there are probably going to be a few fans in thsi forum that might be getting the game that aren't game fanatics or those that might be buying it for a gift or going into a gamestop for the first time in years.

I use to work for gamestop in 2002 it was way different then.

Hell it's changed since I've been there, since late 07. Awful
i used to work for them full time now just holidays, and ive asked a few stores no posters. but one store did get a redic giant game box display stand up.
i cant wait to get my copy signed by g at the carnival

Edit: just looked at the new vids. So essentially, they have made fast players faster, and slow players slower.
It's such a joke they can role these games out for £50
It was needed. Not being able to blow by certain players with faster skaters had me pulling my hair out. They also added in hockey IQ/sense, which allows players to realize where other players (aka pass options) are on the ice rather than just the puck carrier. The goalie has it as well. Hopefully it's significant, could just bust though. Be a GM connected mode is also in there, which is Be a GM online basically, with 30 GMs. I'm sure you'll see threads popping up all over HF for people to join it.
I still wish they'd change some more, but these are pretty good steps. Last year was a down year in my eyes for NHL.

The skating engine most definitely needed to be redone. It is far too easy to figure skate through a whole team in this year's game with the lack of any type of momentum when skating. You can just go full speed, then when you are about to be checked, do a quick 360 degree pirouette, let the defender go by, and continue on your merry way.
My friends and I get it on day 1. We create an EASHL team and play and play and play. We do well for awhile but then glitches are discovered and more people pick up on them thus rendering our game no longer fun. We ease up on our playing time for awhile only to return in a few weeks. My friends (who play offense, I am always D) decide to glitch just to win some games and even the playing field. For awhile, gameplay seems even. Glitches still exist but we can counteract them by knowing where and when to stop them. THEN. EA releases a ****ing tuner set that nerfs every single ****ing thing about the game people have grown to love and form their strategy around. People lose interest, more and more glitches come with each new tuner set, we trade in our game to amazon for a 50% loss (which we think is pretty damn good) after approximately 6-7 months of playing.

I don't know what lvl you play at, but LVL 50 versus it's WAY to easy to blow by defenders with a fast skater. I cannot imagine the exploits this year will have

Anyway, GS has minor ads running in my store, nothing abnormal because of Giroux on the cover. Convinced a Devils fan to reserve the CE today since Giroux isn't on the cover of that (he and his mom refused to get the standard edition). We then went on to argue about our respective teams, and they just defaulted to how many Cups they have won and how much more recent they happened.
