The Kings will not be looking for roster players. They have too many forwards as it is.

I don't think we need macarthur, would prefer a decent forward prospect instead or a backup goalie.

Don't really want to hi-jack the thread, but not worth it's own thread. If LA wants a young forward - NJ needs a Brodeur back-up plan - what about Tedenby + NJ 2nd for Bernier?

That would be a great trade for both teams. I'd love for Bernier to go to an organisation like the Devils.

I think giving up anyone player off the Leafs roster and Draft pick between the 1st - 3rd round is a lot.

When and if the Kings trade Bernier I think they should look for a return at what Tampa Bay gave up for Andres Lundback as to what they should be getting.

I think Reimer has to go back to LA plus a good prospect to LA like Colborne

You guys would be better off keeping Reimer and Colborne, and let them develop.
From a Kings perspective Colborne is a nice asset but we are pretty deep down the middle and Reimer would probably do a Bernier and ask to be traded.

Considering Reimer was the Leafs #1 Goalie from Janurary 1, 2011 until getting hurt in Montreal this past season, can you really see him wanting to be the back up in Los Angeles. Look at the number of games Quick started this past season, so I can't see who ever their back up is playing no more then 20 games and I think it might even be less then that.

As for Colborne I don't want the Leafs to give up on him yet, so I take him out of any potiental trade.

I wouldn't even do Reimer straight up for Bernier.

Please stop with the Bernier to Toronto proposals. Leafs are only looking for a veteran starting goalie. If not, they will go with Reimer and Scrivens. They will not use assets to go after a goalie who is not proven, when they have one somewhat proven, and one unproven who both have decent potential.

Also, I was looking at Reimer's stats and they aren't actually that bad over the last 2 years.

NHL TOTALS 71 GP 34 W 24 L 0 T 9 OTL 6 SOL 187 GA 2,108 SA
.911 SV% 2.83 GAA 3,959 MINS

Considering the Leaf's defensive play the last 2 years, and Reimers health issues last year, I wouldn't feel too bad having him as the #1 next season.

Rumour going around that the Leafs have already made an offer for Benier...

Then how do you explain teams offering a 1st round pick for him at the trade deadline, which is what Brian Burke told the media.

I dont understand how Bernier progresses the Leafs! Reimer was fine before he got the concussion. At least Reimer has proven he can handle the starting load albeit for a short time.

Because most people in the hockey world take what Brian Burke says with a grain of salt...

A few other goalies out there I would love to acquire before Bernier, but if we are down to Bernier or going with Reimer/Scrivens or picking someone up via free agency, then I am all for acquiring Bernier. He is an upgrade over both Gus and Scrivens, so he helps us improve in net, plus he is young and has some upside so he can grow with Reimer, and they can battle for the #1 spot.

Yes, it's just a rumor. The only way this rumor could be possible is if the Leafs are having issues signing Scrivens, which isn't likely.
