Cbj/edm/nyr

I would say that NYR could really use the goal scoring that Nash can bring to them.

CBJ needs mainly fwds, that is where the problem comes in as the only fwds they will move are Dubi. We know that EDM does have a surplus of fwds that they could move in a deal in Hemsky, Gagner, PRV, and prospects.

EDM needs a dman back in the deal for sure.

What kind of offer can be made up with Nash going to NYR and then what does EDM and CBJ get back that would be fair for all.

We know that Hall, Eberle, RNH, and Yak are out of the question.

NYR
Nash

CBJ
Gagner
Hemsky- I am sure Howson still like Hemsky
NYR 1st 2013
Potter
2nd round pick 2013

EDM
Staal or one of those dmen from NYR
Dubi

If you think it is not fair what would be fair?

Not sure why CBJ ever does this trade...

So, if CBJ does not do it what would it take, it seems like CBJ are asking for way too much.

That trade boils down to Gagner and a First and second for Nash. And Gagner gives CLB nothing they need. Hemsky would be another Huselius in CBJ something I bet they never want to see again.

Players that actually help them going forward. Gagner isn't significant to move Nash for, Hemsky is older and injury prone, Potter doesn't do much, and the picks are late.

Rangers don't do this either. Staal is not being traded.

Absolutely not. You move Staal for Nash and then the defense isn't really elite anymore.

If Hemsky and Gagner are leaving then MDZ, McIlrath, and Dubinsky are coming back for sure. No ifs or buts.

To me for Edmonton this move is one step forward and one step back.

While Edmonton recognizes that they lack a good number of great defensemen... they've gotta be happy with their top 6 situation right now.

Take Gagner and Hemsky out and it leaves a bunch of question marks.

Really. With this deal Edmonton's top six lacks a center.

Hall-Hopkins-Eberle
Dubi-????-Yakupov

And Dubi has struggled to find offensive consistency.

Staal is a nice piece, but he isn't worth gutting what we've got at center. Yes, Dubi also plays center but he's more effective on the wing.

Out of all of the terrible posts I've seen on this website in my 6+ years of being on it, this might be the worst of them all and let me tell you, that's a ****-ton of posts for me to consider.

Dubi is a centre which can replace Gagner. MP will get every opportunity to win a job as a top 6 player. The Oilers get a Dman prospect in McIlrath just in case Teubert and Plante does not pan out as expected. MDZ comes in as the #1dman.

MP Hopkins Eberle
Hall Dubinsky Yakupov

MDZ J. Schultz
Whitney Petry
Smid N. Schultz
Sutton Potter

DD

And what incentive does NY have to trade a potential #1 for anything short than Hall, Eberle, Nuge or Yakupov?

Counter:

Dubinsky, MDZ, 1st, JT Miller for Hall.

The original proposal had 'Staal or one of those dmen from NYR'. I want both MDZ and McIlrath if the Oilers are parting with both Gagner and Hemsky. You can keep Staal.

The Rangers can give a rat's ass as to what you want and whether or not Edmonton is giving up Gagner and Hemsky.

They don't hold as much value as you think and they're not going to do Edmonton any favors.

1 - MPS isn't ready for top 6 minutes. He should remain in the AHL for at least one more season. Right now we're sure he can be a very effective bottom six player, but he needs to continue to develop his skills if we want him to turn into a decent top 6 forward.
2 - Dubi sucks at center. If he came to Edmonton he'd be playing LW.
3 - MDZ and Schultz together? Whitney and Petry together? Smid and NICK SCHULTZ TOGETHER? Are you actually an Oilers fan? Or were you kidnapped and confined to some shack in a jungle last season? OMG ... .where's the little smile where the head blows up and the sky starts falling.

If the Rangers become willing to offer someone like Staal or McD or whomever in a Nash deal, we'd happily cut out the middleman and deal with the NYR directly.
