Milan Lucic
Malcom Subban
Adam Mcquaid
2013 conditional BOS 1st*
The condition is Nash scores 40 goals
Thoughts?
I think Boston overpays a little but I still like the trade.
It would never work because Howson has been overvaluing Nash from get-go.
My initial reaction upon seeing this was "go to hell". Allow me to explain why.
1) We have zero use for Subban. We have Dansk, Korpisalo, Forsberg, and York all in the pipeline. The only goaltending we desire or need is NOW goaltending.
2) We are actively hostile to the idea of McQuaid. Setting aside the fact that our blueline is overfull, he's already ditched us once before and forced us to trade him - that's why he's in Boston to begin with. He can go **** himself; we don't want him back.
3) We have lots of use for Derek Dorsett; he's a significant part of the leadership group here, was just recently resigned, and is starting to discover some offense. Ten goals out of a fourth-line PKer is something you don't just throw in.
This is an exceptionally poor trade for Columbus.
Possible counter: Nash+Boll for Lucic, Krejci, and that conditional 1st.
EDIT: We'll also take Thomas if you think he's no better than a cap dump at this stage. If you feel he still has value, though, then there's little point in us asking.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Absolute lunacy to consider moving Lucic from the Bruins.
He's as productive as most forwards he's being offered for (easily first-line-caliber production... 39th in the past two seasons in points) - and brings an elite physical/toughness dimension that you can't find often in top-six talent.
Sure his postseason production wasn't outstanding in 2011... And in 2012, he like MANY Bruins had poor postseasons - but if that's your deciding factor for moving-on from one of the leagues premier power-forwards (at age 24), I don't know what to say.
Personally I wouldn't trade Lucic straight-up for either Nash or Ryan simply because of his age, productivity and uniqueness. Players like him are few and far between and Boston is very fortunate to have him on their roster.
This whole you can't trade Lucic thing baffles me.
Do you trade a Cam Neely **** no
Do you trade a Milan Lucic ya if the right proposal comes across your desk
Milan Lucic is not Cam Neely. He is 100% tradable for the right deal. His defensive effort is, when not pummeling defensman in the offensive zone, mediocre at best. He goes into long stretches where he thinks he is significantly more skilled than the is and tries to dance around defenders instead of using what he has and just driving through them.
Yes, he is at the moment a very good lower tier top 6 forward with a unique skill set but on a team that currently has 6-7 very good lower tier top six forwards and only 1 with who is guaranteed to be a top 3 over 30 goals over point per game guy in Seguin. If you can trade Lucic to get someone to go with Seguin you do it.
Also needs to be mentioned do you, or does Chiarelli think Lucic has reached his potential, if he has I think it makes it easier to pull the trigger on a deal to get someone to go with Seguin. If you want to argue he is 24 and still has a couple years until he hits his peak then, you are probably better off keeping him to be the high end talent to go with Seguin. If he improves more he should be a 30-35 goal a year guy. Which he is most certainly not right now after 25 this year and 30 the year before with a quarter of them on empty nets.
But at the moment if you don't think anyone other than Seguin has clear top 3 potential, you should be moving some assets to try and get some more high end talent. Whether it is Lucic, Krejci, someone else or picks and prospects. So in my opinion it makes this thread relevant
Are you the only Bruins fan who think that Lucic is overrated?
He not only is the only Bruins fan but probobly the only hockey fan.
Lucic is a beast, he has scored 30 goals and makes others around him grow balls. When he's on the ice people are looking over there shoulders praying they don't get him through the glass. He is strong on the puck and sees the ice well.
He is not the most talented individual in the world but he sure makes up for that with the "fear factor".
Ask anyone in the bruins division who they fear the most, Lucic will be the name u hear.
He is a Bear in a bruins uniform, no one will trade for him because to the Bruins he's the next Taz...
I laugh at the possibility of trading Lucic. He has a rare kind mean streak in him. Like a forward version scott stevens. He will pot 25+ goals, 60 points, and still rack up 100+ PIM pounding the other team into oblivion. Oh, and hes only 24.

I would trade just about anything to get Lucic as a Leaf fan. He's just so mean lol
He fits in our locker room. I am not his biggest fan but I know he is a good player and he is best friends with several players on the Canucks
Lucic tauned Vancouver fans during the SCF and if he were to ever play for us he would be run out of town faster than you could even say Lucic
I hope this is hyperbole. I get the feeling if Lucic, Vancouver native and former Memorial Cup MVP for the Giants, ever went back to Vancouver as a Canuck he'd be welcomed with open arms.
