That's horrible! My heart goes out to everyone effected by this. You are in my prayers.

What is wrong with people... something HAS to be done to get the guns off the streets.

Wow. My mom works for the Aurora City Attorney's Office; needless to say, it was a rough day. Plenty of people in the office trying to get a hold of friends/family who were there, fielding calls from the media, and trying to navigate the craziness surrounding the detention facilities. A coworker's friend was shot in the leg, but he'll make a full recovery (he's just thankful to be alive).

The whole thing is just so troubling. I mean, seriously, this will affect way too many lives for way too long of time. It's all senseless. WTF humans.

That is horrible... Jessica survived one horrific event only to be killed in another one, a month later.

Jessica wanted to eat sushi but @ the last minute she deiced to go outside @ 6:20. The Eaton Centre shooting happened @ 6:23, had Jessica gone for sushi, she would've been in the same place where one of the two victims was sitting.

Jay Meloff was her boyfriend, a hockey player who lives here in Toronto. They have been dating for about 1 year.

I was in tears as I read this: http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/2012...jessica/11158/

In tears for all the victims.

This type of thing literally makes me sick to my stomach. I cannot believe human beings like the coward who did this exist in the world. Youre never really safe when you leave the house these days. I just really hope that all of the families of the victims will be able to recover from this horrendous tragedy.

So far the whole point blank baby shooting part only exists on some internet news sites, and it was one of the earliest things I saw about the shooting at around 2am last night. I haven't heard anything about it during any actual news casts. I think that part is just sensationalism by less than reputable news sources, hoping to drive up their hits in the early moments when there wasn't that much information available.

There was no baby shot. The youngest victim was a 6 year old girl who died. There is a bone chilling video of the dad talking about it in many news sites. It is heart breaking.

Do any of you guys remember Jeffrey Dahmer? I hope this guy suffers the same or similiar fate in jail. I'm not going to describe what I want to happen to him because I could get banned for a long long time.

Canucks fan coming here in peace and taking our rivalry and hockey debates aside.

I would like to send my prayers to all the victims' families and friends that were affected. My thoughts are with you all if any of you are personally affected by this tragedy. While this is the second mass shootings in your state in the past 15 years, I really hope that they do something to do with gun control. Enough is enough!

Again condolences to your state to this terrible tragedy.

I work at a movie theatre myself and today was one of the weirdest days in my three years there...

It was just an uncomfortable atmosphere today, not to mention it was one of the slowest Fridays I can remember despite a blockbuster movie coming out

what a sad day... RIP

The sad thing in that is that the only ones who would follow the rule, would be the ones who don't shoot people anyways - if someone decides to do this kind of thing in a grocery store, I can guarantee to you that some metal detector is not going to stop them. Vice versa, it only stops people being able to shoot the killer before he slaughters everyone in the store.

Someone here said after Hyvinkää events (http://edition.cnn.com/2012/05/26/wo...html?hpt=hp_t3) that Finland should make murdering people illegal and I think that's a great way to say it.

U.S. troops were among the casualties in the shooting rampage at the Colorado movie theater, the Pentagon spokesman said.

Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say 'what should be the reward of such sacrifices?' Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

In case you're wondering Colorado has the death penalty, but has used it once since 1977 (Gary Lee Davis in 1997).

I think death might be the easy way out..lock him in a cell forever..slide a plate of cat food into his cell..give him a bucket to **** in..that is all..
Thats how i feel..
But, they will probably just put him into a mental facility after 5 years of prison

I wonder if people like him ever regret what they did..this guy planned it out, wasnt spur of the moment..
He obviously doesnt give a **** about people and life in general.

I posted my thoughts on the politics board, as they are not only somewhat political, but some may find them a bit controversial.

Learning she was @ the Eaton Centre on June 5th has brought back painful memories for us as well.

My heart broke for all the victims when I heard about the shootings. The survivors will have PTSD no doubt.

I watched CNN last night & hearing the accounts of what happened from the survivors, I'll remember it for a long time.

Why would someone do that?

This event has me scared to go to the movies cause there may be a copycat. You know how sick people can be & copy cat others.

I'm 100% sure that the Avs will have a patch on their jerseys for the whole season (the one in my avatar would be great) & a moment of slight @ their first home game.
