Last year was most indefinitely snake-bitten year for him.

At this point, that's a fair deal for Nikolai but I see him proving a lot more than 28 points plateau to say the least.

Maybe. I thought his shooting percentage in his good season was out of whack. We shall see if he can do that again.

2.6m first year, 3m in the second. Opposite of his last contract which had the higher amount in the first year of the contract.

New CBA might impact whether he is UFA at the end of this deal.

I expect we'll see the old Kulemin back this year, and for him to be a coach's favorite.

My son agree's.

I'm saying Frattin has more pings than Kulemin this year.

I don't know about that. I have a huge gut feeling Frattin is probably going to dealt now for Jonathan Bernier. It makes sense too if we want Kadri to permanently make the roster.

the rumors are flying out that there could be a potential trade between us and the Kings in which would send Frattin+ going Kings way for Bernier.

Hope I am wrong tho.

Nah - can't see it quite yet. Maybe in 2013-2014, but I say Frattin gets pushed down to 3rd line (maybe Kuli too if Kadri doesn't explode at training camp).

I feel like speculation on pts is going to be dependent on whether the JvR at #1C experiment works or fails... and who else gets traded this off season.

I still think Kuli > Frattin for now.

I'm a big Frattin fan. He's got the tools to be a special player. If he's still around and excels, that will be my Winter Classic jersey (provided they're not ugly as hell).

Hope we retain him, especially if it's for someone like Bernier as is speculated. Shouldn't be getting rid of our developing draft picks showing promise.

Even if he never hits 30 goals again, I also cant see him getting less than 10 again. He should be putting up 15-25 a year, 40ish points, is good defensively, and brings a physical element. Thats worth 2.8. And if he actually does bounce back, and start putting up 50+ points and 25-30 goals, its a complete steal.

If he plays anywhere near the way he did two years ago, this is a bargain.
