Great deal. Here's hoping he can regain his 30 goal form

This is a great deal for us. If he settles back into at least a 40 point player, with his work ethic it'll be a steal.

People who look at the stat sheet will say over paid

People who look at the player will say fair, potential bargain

Glad to see I'm not the only one who was panicking about a deal getting done because of my jersey haha

Certainly had a rough year offensively, but he's still my favourite Leaf and he will always be an effective player on the ice.

I hope he has a bounce back year, I think he was in a bit of a funk, having lost his good friend Igor Korolev, in the Russian plane crash and then the broken finger, near the end of the season didn't help either.

This.

In no way do I think this is an overpayment. He's the hardest working guy on the ice and I would give him 3 million for it.

I think it also gives the Leafs organization a sense of reward. He's been with the organization the longest and it gives you a sense of security and dedication to fans saying that we are just going to get new guys in free agency when we can develop our own.

This will turn out as the best signing this off-season by far.

He'll bounce back because he's no Gomez. Kulemin just cant possibly whiff on so many chances and have bad luck when he has golden chances.

I expect 45-55 points at least if he is on the 2nd line.

Good deal. I think when he got 30 he over achieved and when he got 7 he under achieved. Anything from 15-20 goals and 20-25 assists and Im happy

I am VERY happy to see Kulemin back in the blue and white. Pretty bizarre to see him making half what Grabo makes, I don't think anyone would've predicted that a year ago. Fair contract though I like it

I'd be very interested to see this line:

Kulemin-Kadri-Frattin

I know McClement was picked up, but Steckel doesn't need to be guaranteed a spot.

Everyone has McClement penciled into the 3rd. line, but his career high is 36 points 5 years ago. He's been 20 and 17 points the last 2 seasons. He isn't a 3rd. line player unless you expect nothing from the 3rd. line.

McClement could take the 4th. line and special teams.

Steckel has a career high of 19 points, has good face-offs and can't skate.

Fair deal for an elite third line defensive forward. If he hits 20 goals, spectacular. I just want him to possess and cycle the puck, and eat up tough minutes.

it's a good lessen for those around him.

if you give a poor performance at a job you can't expect a raise.

That is a great deal....he was worth more then that, but his bad year last year place him in this range.

We got him cheap.

I know this is a Kulemin thread but I think you're right about Frattin going for Bernier, as long as Burke doesn't have to add the Leafs 1st round pick I'm game for a trade like that. As far as Kulemin goes good deal, I think he will rebound for sure. Even though he had a bad year he still played fairly well, he just seemed to lose his scoring touch. His defensive game made up for his poor offense last year.

He's got too much skill and works too hard to possibly do as poorly on the stat sheet as he did last year. Looks like a bargain to me. Was hoping for more years, but I can understand where Kuli wouldn't want to lock in too much after last season. 2 years is fair.

That would be an interesting line and all those players are sort of going through a bit of transformation, Kulemin more of a 2 way player and a goal scorer, Kadri bulking up with a Gary Roberts makeover and Frattin starting to see his real potential, could be a dynamite line.

2.8 million is good for his skill set. Gotta believe he will bounce back.. Question regarding arbitration. Why did the Leafs offer it too Kumie but not Franson. Whats the advantages / disadvantages of that?

A rumour started by hockeyinsider.. Why do people give these frauds the time of day?

Kulemin's contract is fair imo. We'll see after the new CBA if that brings him to UFA or another RFA season. Burke knows infinitely more than anyone here so I'm guessing he sees a player's RFA eligibility be pushed back a year, or two.
