I liked what I saw from winnik and was hoping DW could have signed him. Kinda torn about this.

Good signing for Anahiem... But bad negotiating tactics by Winnik. He kind of seems like a dick, he definitely could have gone to a more competetive team.

Not really, given his contract demands.

That's true, it wouldn't surprise me if Winnik was unhappy with the coaching staff, McLellan runs a painfully passive PK, but Robinson and Johnson are likey to fix that.

I'm guessing he would have, but he was probably asking for much more, and by the time he decided to take less DW already filled his spot.

Especially after giving up McGinn for him. I really miss Ginner

Damn, wanted him on the Leafs!

Great pick up for Anaheim. Solid PKer and 4th liner.

Always liked Winnik when he was with the Avs.

Good signing for ANA.

The Sharks never offered Winnik a contract, either during the remainder of the season or after. Inquired about contract demands/expectations and basically scoffed at it, like most teams did.

Uhh Selanne already signed a contract for next season. Ryan, Perry, Selanne, DSP, Palmieri, Cogliano, Winnik is nothing to scoff at on the Wing. We're obviously hoping Palmieri or possibly Etem takes the next step and become a top 6 winger, but we're definitely not in dire straits either way.

McGinn and two good prospects for Galiardi and Anaheim getting Winnik.

You also got a 7th round pick from Colorado.

DSP-Getz-Perry
Ryan-Bonino/Holland-Palmieri
Cogs-Koivu-Selanne
Winnik-Bonino/Holland-Beleskey/Staubitz

Not bad, still could use a 2nd line center.

How would you rate Winnick on PK vs Mcclement (2 year at 1.5)?

Well we have one of the best scorers in AHL last couple of years in Kyle Palmieri coming up, and could potentially play top 6 which would give us top 6 wingers of Ryan, Perry, Selanne and Palmieri. Then for bottom 6 Winnik, DSP, Beleskey and Cogs [if kept].

Not like we have terrible depth at this moment in time. The biggest issue for Anaheim is the #2 center spot.

Silent Jay is the better player, plus he's a centre.

I guess he couldn't get the deal he wanted so he had to settle for this.

What a joke Wilson. Winnik is way better than Burish, and we pay him the same amount AND for longer.
