yea, not sure why he isn't getting more love around here, but his college career was very good and his last season was spectacular. goaltending seems to be an organization strength.
Its really because the players ahead of him for the most part played more in the AHL or in the case of Tanev even the NHL. There's also the simple fact of being a 1st round pick that creates more hype about a prospect (i.e. 4 of the players that will beat Cannata are former 1st round picks with the 2 exception being Lack and Tanev).
Corrado is my choice at #7 - seems to be a smooth skater with very good hockey sense and poise (I've admittedly only seen him play 3 times) - isn't it hard to teach that stuff?
He definitely has the highest ceiling of all our D prospects, even higher than McNally, I think. Just a very smart and poised player (not unlike Tanev) but he has an insane shot (100+ mph) and offensive skill to add to that.
I think it's between him and Cannata for #7 and I would take Corrado just because I think goalies are more unpredictable. Cannata could completely bust in the AHL as we've only seen him play 1 game there.
Also, the fact that Connauton got any votes here just puzzles me. I think someone even said he has top pairing potential earlier... ?
