Issac

Hey guys and gals, I'm down here in extreme south Florida so I am getting ready for nasty Issac to roll in during the next couple days. Expecting a lot of rain and flooding and a few downed trees, maybe a power outage or two. Went and got gas, candles, canned food etc just in case.
Just wanted to say be safe and good luck to those in the potential path like me.
Anyone else getting ready?

Got also cash, gas, some water and emptied balcony. Miami Beach is good place to live, underground electrical cabling, for example after hurricane Vilma, only 24 hour power outage.

I'm in Vero Beach, so I'll probably just get some rainy days. Hope everything goes well for you guys down south.

I drove my car right up close to my front door because my street turns into a lake when we get hardcore rain. A couple of my new neighbors looked at me like I'm crazy, but they will figure it out soon enough.

I'm up here in frozen Canada but I wanted to wish all the best to all of you dealing with this. I lived in Texas when I was a kid where tornado warnings were frequent so I know how little fun this sort of thing can be.

Lol I live in frozen Canada too. I honestly think us Canadians take for granted how lucky we are that we never have to deal with these types of things.

You have to deal with cold weather for six months of the year, I can't complain too much.

We don't have to worry about crazy moose attacks though

I'd rather listen to the screaming winds of a hurricane than the whining of Toronto fans.

I'm in Sunny Isles, right in front of Duffy's across from the intracoastal...so far nothing major, some strong winds here and there, a small tree already fell off here in my building ...expect it to get nastier as the day and night rolls on, obviously not as bad as you guys further south. Take care all!

I absolutely love hurricanes.. I'm up here in Tampa hoping we get some nice effects, but nothing to hurt anyone, of course. Stay safe everyone...

Best hurricane ever.

Nothing happened and no school tomorrow. Awesome considering all the work I have to do.

Lamest storm ever.

We didn't even get school canceled up here. Oddly enough, we had a university emergency alert for a tornado warning that caused quite the disruption in classes. Luckily it was during my break, and I was already in dungeon of UCF to begin with so no action was required on my part lol.

Fort Pierce was getting hammered today by the tail end of the storm and I don't know who it was that was responsible for not cancelling classes until after 1 o'clock but a whole bunch of people were stuck on campus when I left because their cars were bumper deep in water. It was redonkulous.

Yeah, that was quite the powerful stretch of outer bands to be honest. It just started pissing on us at about 4:00 am this morning, and the rain didn't stop up until now.
