How do doubleA ballparks compare to say, the PCL which are known for being bandboxes? Any idea?

Look for Marisnick to hit for a .750-.800 OPS. Most of our prospects hit in that range move up to AAA.

I'm not worried I'd just like to see his back start to take off. He hasn't really been lights out anywhere yet.

Compared to the PCL, the Eastern League is like a bunch of Petco fields.

Just looking at Jake's stats it looks like he struggled when he got called up to Lansing in his first pro season too and then absolutely murdered the ball the next year. So I'm just going to give him a break as they're probably just trying to adjust his swing or batting stance in some way.

Well I'm not sure that's entirely true, but well said.

Only if AA's drunk...and Philly takes on salary. I believe I read he's still owed 96 mil over the next 4 years.

That would be fine if he was a Free Agent. Problem is he's gonna require a king's ransom of prospects. I wouldn't touch him tbh.

Phillies are asking for too much considering Lee hasnt been himself this season and hes still owed A LOT. I don't think he gets dealt before the deadline.

I don't think they otherwise have a choice. It's the Luongo situation.

You're suggesting the Phillies are being forced to trade Lee? I've read nothing of the sort.

His peripherals are still on point it's just the Phillies themselves haven't been themselves which is what I think would be the main reason for such a god awful year for Lee.

Lee doesn't want out, and they're not being pushed by budgetary problems like a cap or something similar (that I'm aware of).

Besides, if they were going to salary dump, they'd probably look at dumping their expensive, injury-ravaged or aging position players (Howard, Rollins, Victorino. Or Joe Blanton, who has no business making 10m to be an ok #5 starter, though he is a FA at season's end). they could probably trade Lee for a hefty sum from a team like the Rangers if Texas feels pressured to match the Angels' Grienke acquisition, but they're not really under the gun to do something like the Canucks are with Luongo.

The Phillies don't have to trade him....like at all. I can understand them wanting to dump salary, but there's so many other ways of doing it before you trade one of the best pitchers in the game.

the reason he's available is because they are looking to address other positional needs and trying to get a little younger. They aren't looking to off load him. They are trying to get a big return of mlb or mlb ready pieces. IMO I don't think we have what they are necessarily looking for

Drabek, Gose, and one of our big arms

For his contract at least 3/4 covered

Or you could do Drabek, Gose and Happ. They'd get three of the prospects/players they traded to get Lee and Halladay back lol. Too bad Drabek is having another TJ. I think he would have been used as a trade chip had he stayed healthy. Even if he was still struggling.

On the Phillies front, there are rumors in the bay area that the Giants have a deal in place to acquire Hunter Pence, but everyone around both teams is denying it. So that would be one bit of dumpable salary out the door for Philly instead of Lee.

I wonder if this is the start of a rebuild in Philly or a rebuild on the fly? I'd love to get Halladay back if he is healthy again.

The Phillies are a great case study in what happens when you gut your farm system for immediate help and it doesn't work.
