Realistically almost all NHL hockey players are dicks, my buddy's gf dated both Setoguchi and Versteeg, guess what she had to say about them?

for the most part, dating professional athletes, especially when they're younger (under 30), is almost never a good idea

yeah this has become one of the most overly hyped story I've seen in awhile. It's a complete non-story to anyone who is rational. This just gave people who already dislike Kane more ammo to spread. The people who already hated the kid are the ones showing up threads like these spewing ignorant comments. The ones saying who cares have a logical mind on their shoulders.

Side note: Don't let the media tell you what to think

I remember being in college and seeing 23-24 year old guys act like that.

Asked if he had a drinking problem, Kane replied: "I don't think so. I don't want to put myself in that position again, but no I don't think I do."
The denial stage is the worst

Its nice that he realizes that with the position he is in that he is a role model to a lot of little kids in the US, hope he takes his role a little more serious now when in the public eye.

I'd hate to imagine how many of us would be the targets of interweb neckbeard rage if we suddenly became famous and kept up our usual drinking (or drug) habits.

Yeah, I'd have to keep my abuse of women and misogyny on the DL for sure.

That made me

I'm sure there would be a few but the thing is he didn't suddenly become famous. He was a big named player in the OHL, had eyes on him as he was going to be a 1st overall so he has had fans & has been in a spotlight for a while... this isn't all sudden really.

He probably got away with it as a teen because well he wasn't playing professional hockey but the moment he realizes he is a big name star in the NHL & being put on video game covers that he should change up his actions or not be so public with his drunkenness as kids are going to be looking up to him as a role model.

He just has a ****** personality, seems like a guy who is full of himself, I'm not going to get into the other **** because maybe it happened maybe it didn't, but just the way he presents himself is not a likeable character.

Sounds like your buddy's gf gets around with hockey players. So she's hardly an unbiased source of info.

Considering last offseason more hockey players died than soldiers, I'm fairly happy to be talking about Patrick Kane's wild night out.

He's young and has a bunch of money. As long as he isn't ringing up 100k bills at the bar and making it rain (lots of former athletes went broke by not watching their money) then let him party. As long as he isn't being like one of those guys that turns into a lush and parties every day I don't see a problem with it.

Athletes are people too. They need to unwind and have a good time.

I don't think any of us have a problem with Kane drinking (except the media). The reason he is criticized so much is because he seems like a genuine arrogant *******.

Not an excuse - being drunk underage is by no means a wonderful thing, but that is the truth (and something which everyone seems to ignore). People are not themselves when intoxicated - we all know this.

Actually, it's good that he even had the presence of mind to call a cab instead of driving himself (or letting his cousin drive). A lot of athletes these days don't seem to even have that basic amount of intelligence for their own safety as well as that of others.

He has maturity issues and is a disgrace to the Hawks. Bowman should trade him to Buffalo for a 5th rounder.

Kane's partying makes me want to vomit all over my hawks fandom. I just can't believe he'd be so selfish like this and have a good time in the offseason.

I don't care, but maybe he should. He's peaked. And he's a small, luxury player, so he needs to remember he be useless in today's NHL if he isn't at the peak of his game.

Rob Schremp anyone?
Lol. Kane has not peaked by any means. Enough with the trolling.
