Maybe another first? Not really sure what else they would send without Stefan.

Dubisnky, Erixson, 1st and Anisimov
Better than I expected for Howson, even if Erixson is really risky.

Dubinsky, Erixson, McDonough, and 1st
Ouch. Losing McDonough basically makes this deal pretty awful for the Rangers.
Edit: nevermind...it's Anisimov. Still ouch but not NEARLY as bad.

Anisimov is the fourth piece, not McDonagh.

Ooof @ Howson.
Don't they have a jillion forwards now, too? Could we swing something for Dubinsky/Anisimov before they even play a game in a different blue/white?

Also, I don't think Bryz and Miller had "nearly identical" numbers last year. .916 =/= .909. By your logic, Ryan Miller had "nearly identical" numbers to Pekka Rinne (.923).
(Please don't tell me you were including GAA, one of the dumbest stats in sports, in your statement. Surely you know that's driven by shots faced, and SV% is a much better indicator of goaltender performance.)
Games played: 59/61
Wins: 33/31
Losses: 16/21
Minutes: 3415/3536
GA: 141/150
SO: 6/6
You can throw out whatever stats you consider stupid, I guess. Miller's still not "far better" as was the original argument.

I think it's terrible for both sides
Nash and Dubinsky are very overrated.
Erixson probably won't even play for Columbus.
Though the Rangers did certainly upgrade their forward talent overall.

Wow Columbus got fleeced. Horrid trade. Why did we sit on our thumbs?

Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon and a 1st for Rick Nash isn't terrible to me when Nash wants out and has a short list of teams that he'll except a deal to.

Pretty fair deal. Rick Nash is easily one of the most overrated players in the league and his contract sucks.

It was as good as they were going to do at this point, and Howson realized it. They got an elite prospect (Erixon), two good defensive forwards who can both play center and are offensively able (Anismov and Dubi), and a 1st. They were never getting the Kreiders, Brayden Schenns, Sean Couturiers, or Logan Coutures of the world.
I think Howson is as incompetent as any GM in the league, but they added N. Foligno, Dubi, and Anisimov this offseason. Those guys all compete. And Jackets fans have to be salivating at a future pairing of Erixon-Murray to pair with the vastly underrated Tyutin-Nikitin pairing. Now if they can just get a goaltender who can stop some pucks...

I'm pretty sure Scott Howson could find a way to trade $5 bills, and still lose 75 cents.

Wins/Losses are a team stat. So, yeah, it needs to be put in its proper context. Similar minutes? Fine. But the fact of the matter is Bryz stopped a fairly significant lower percentage of shots faced than Miller. That's a big deal. There's a big difference between .916 and .909, just as there is from .923 (Rinne) to .909. A .923 can put you in the Vezina conversation some years, while .916 is a slightly above-average season.

Let's consider the body of work of scott howson over two years:
Out: Voracek, Nash, 8th overall (COUTURIER)
In: Wisniewski (via UFA), Dubinsky, Erixson, Jack Johnson, 30th overall 2012, 1st rounder in 2013 (likely 20+), Anisimov
Turning Quality into Quantity??

That's a good point. I still can't believe the Rags didn't have to give up Stepan or Kreider though.

His list has been known for quiet a while.
And we were not even close to being on there.

He had a no-move clause, and gave Howson a list of teams he'd waive it for. Buffalo wasn't on that list.

The statements about which teams he would accept a trade to never included Buffalo.
