That's why you shouldn't have so many Canadians on your roster.
In all seriousness though, I didn't expect that. Didn't we keep him in the press box all year because we were too afraid of someone picking him off waivers should we send him to the Rock? Looks like no one in the NHL was that interested... or the KHL offer was very lucrative.
Good. Flood was nothing more than an injury emergency sub in, not sure what was seen in him that had him on the roster all year. Best of the luck in the KHL, but he had no business being in Winnipeg.

He was ok when he came in but we should have no illusions about him being a full-time guy here. He was never going to be more than a fill-in, press box guy, on any NHL team out there.
Good luck to him in the KHL but he wasn't going to make the NHL full time.

Yup. Not to cut a guy down just as he's no longer here (once a Jet, always a Jet), but if he is a regular in our starting 6, then we probably aren't finishing in the top 8 in the East. Our training camp would be stronger with him than without him, but ideally he would probably be our bubble/7th guy at best. Unless we dealt one of our 5 starting locks on D, one of Flood, Postma, & Clitsome would be getting cut after TC. Which of those three would be the best to lose?
And yet we signed Derek Meech the first day of free agency
Meech was awesome in the AHL play-offs and has a lot of value as a leader on that team, my guess is he's okay with being an AHL call-up, whereas Flood was looking for more.
Good luck to Mark, great guy and hope he has success overseas.
Flood did everything that was asked of him with the Jets. He often played well after sitting out very long stretches. Not a lot of room at the back end with the Jets. I hope he has success in the KHL.
3 players off to the KHL it is looking more and more like the Jets were icing an AHL roster at times last season.
