Is PS3 any different from like 2 years ago? Because that's what I'm going off of

Exactly why i think if psn fixed theirs it would be alot better. Everything feels...all over the place for me. Its not really user friendly i think. But like ss said, to each their own.

Yes.

They are changing it constantly.

But, so is Microsoft. But Live is going in a terrible direction. Our users are paying for this service? LET'S BOMBARD THEM WITH ADS

I never did understand the ads. Especially for a paid service. At least with the XMB, you actually have to go out of your way to find the ads. I just find the XMB to clean, fast and simple.

Just started a small GM connected league with realistic trades. (No malkin for 8 first deals, or those lopsided CPU deals.) I have Columbus. Here is my roster for the season. 1/8 way in

Cogliano - Dubinsky - Foligno
Anisimov - Johansen - Brassard
Prospal - O'Reilly - Kubalik
Bennett - Moore - MacKenzie

Johnson - Wisniewski
J. Moore - Savard
Erixon - Goulobef

Bobrovsky
McElhinney

Aucoin - Healthy Scratch
Dorsett - Healthy Scratch
Letestu - Healthy Scratch

Transaction History:
Traded Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and a 2013 3rd to Anaheim for Andrew Cogliano
Traded Steve Mason to Philadelphia for Jason Akeson, Cal Heeter, and 2013 3rd
Traded RJ Umberger and 2013 2nd to Pittsburgh for Beau Bennett and 2013 3rd
Traded Fedor Tyutin Colton Gilles Dalton Smith 2014 2nd to Colorado for Ryan O'Reilly Paul Carey and 2013 4th.
Signed Nik Zherdev to 1 yr deal
Signed Oskar Osala to 1yr deal
Signed Dominic Moore to 3 yr deal

Microsoft wants more money

Also the only problem I have with the XMB is when I accidentally hit the PS button and it wont go away

You mean it sometimes takes a century to get out of the XMB when you're in a game? Yeah it's ****ing annoying. But with the upcoming new system, even if they go with a similar UI, it will most likely be a **** load faster. Hope the new Sony system also makes lazy ****ing devs not make ****** ports and more devs not have crappy load times/performance (looking at NHL 13).

Yep, and that's also the game that it happens to me most.

Be playing defense in EASHL

Go for hit

Hit PS button

As for the devs making better games, I'm hoping there's new engines built for a lot of games like NHL and Call of Duty. I've felt for awhile now that they weren't building a new engine due to not wanting to build an engine that may not work with the new system

They don't have to build a new engine because they have no competition. People buy COD no matter what, and EA has a monopoly when it comes to NHL and NFL games.

Anyone have a PS Vita? I am very intrigued by it but it is very expensive for a handheld system and I am a cheapass.

I haven't gotten it but it's not that expensive.

Also, get PS+ to get a ton of free Vita games

I believe they've done away with the 3G version and there's only a WiFi version available. While Krishna is dead on about the PN+ content, there is ZERO 3rd party support for the Vita, so the selection of games is slim (around 20-25?), most of which being Playstation-only remakes.

The system is awesome though.

It's like $250, I can get a full on PS3 for $300 with games.

Yeah that is my take. It looks pretty sweet. I just can't bring myself to shell out that $250 for something that has such a limited use.

Whoever came up with the idea that Kinect could be used as an Xbox Live microphone should be fired.

I don't even notice the ads. Bombard is a strong word.

I feel like PS3 gradually got worse since it was released. When it was released, it had more features, physical and virtual. There were more available USB ports and it would actaully play PS2 games. You also had the ability to install another OS, like Linux. They have also patched the system, ruining great features like video streaming from a PC (they patched certain video file types for DRM support. audio stops working after 20 minutes on some rips).

I bought my PS3 a year or so after it was released. Mine has fewer USB ports, it can't freaking play PS2 games and it has been patched to hell and back by Sony.

And to think, with all of these security patches, maybe the system and its network are secure? Nope. Luckily, I wasn't one of the people who had their credit card information stolen when PSN was hacked to bajeesus and back.

It's actually quite useful, like when your mic dies/breaks.

The sensitivity is annoying, since everyone can hear anything and everything coming from my center channel, but I don't use it as a primary mic. It's just useful for telling friends that your regular headset is busted

Because it's not selling.

The future doesn't look great for handhelds with mobile gaming taking such a strong stand in the gaming department. Why buy another handheld for $200+ when you can play similar games on your smartphone? It's a shame in some ways.

Although, the Nintendo 3DS is still selling very well. =\
