good to know the leafs are still the leafs, under new ownership and after the lockout.

I hope this means overpaying for luongo. If not, it could still mean bad news for the sens.

Anaheim is one of the very few places Pronger would accept a trade to. And Niedermayer was going there reagrdless of who the gm was. He was going there to win a cup with his brother. Burke inherited a championship calibre team, thanks to Murray. Painfully obvious.

Do we really want the Leafs to build the Canucks like they did the Bruins though?

I think Leafs get Luongo for cheap. I hope he does, too.

Does Luongo make the Leafs better? Yes. But having that contract will handcuff the Leafs.

The leafs are the winner for me, they will win more without him and Nonis in charge.

Nonis is the guy who brought Luongo to Vancouver. I'm starting to think that Burke either didn't want to roll the dice on Luongon now (maybe wait for a buyout this summer?) or he just didn't want to pony whatever Vancouver were after.

Anywho, with Nonis in charge, Luongo is coming to town.

Don't bet too much on that happening just yet.

Burke made me hate the Leafs more, for that reason not sure what to think about this.

All I know is that the suits at MLSE still run the show!

And so ends the days of truculence, testosterone, belligerence and pugnacity.

I'm going to miss Brian Burke as GM of the Leafs. He provided the best sound bytes for everyone's amusement. Somehow his big headed arrogance seemed to fit right in with the Leafs organization. I'm going to miss his reckless destruction of one of our main adversaries.

The good news is Dave Nonis is taking over, and he is responsible for creating one of the weakest pushover Canucks teams in the franchises history..

Bob Mccowan just said on Sportsnet that the price for Luongo is Gardiner and Kadri and Burke was unwilling.

This shall be fun to follow

BoG ratify the CBA.

Apparently the players aren't going to vote until Friday-Saturday now. What the delay is, no one seems to be sharing. Camps would still open on Sunday.

Less than a week of practice before season starts.

A lot harder to organize a vote for 700+ on two continents than 30

Kinda hard to set up a vote for >700 people all over the world.
