NHL Fan Census Survey

A user from ****** has made a survey to get a more up-to-date NHL Census map. The following link will take you to the survey:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GXRJNNP

This survey is intended to create a map that will display where the fans of each team live. That is why the survey asks for your zip code/postal code

As of 1 hour ago the responses were as follows:

Vancouver technically is an American city. At least they act that way.

What is the point of this survey? There doesn't appear to be anything scientific about it at all.

It's not really surprising. A big chunk of Canadiens fans are Francophones so they probably aren't partaking in an Anglophone forum, where I would speculate the survey was posted at (/hockey/ I guess?).

I have no clue what the demographic makeup of ****** is supposed to be either, so I really doubt the survey is an accurate sample of hockey fandom as a whole (of course, most European fans wouldn't be able to chime in either).

That's exactly why it's posted here.

As of more recently, the responses look like this:

Please keep tell everyone you know about this survey to try and get the most complete information as possible!

the survey also asks your zip code to create a map of this information

For example, it asked me my favorite team, which is the Oil, and to enter my US zipcode. My data point will show up as an Oilers fan in Georgia.

I think the OP needs to edit exactly what this is supposed to do.

I just checked and you can vote more than once so I suspect atleast one team fan base around here is stacking the vote

Ya... There is no point to this.
Unless it was done on something like... NHL.com?

So much whining over a random survey. It literally takes 3 seconds to complete.

The idea is to look at where the fans of the teams are located. People like you are exactly the sort that this poll wants to see. Obviously, there will be huge numbers around the home cities, but It'd also be interesting to see how far reach there is, or where they may be large pockets of fans outside of their 'home' city.

This wasn't the poll creators intend, but people wanted to see early results, and at this point there is not enough to map.

He is trying to get an updated version of this which will include canada as opposed to just the US. I think he is also doing it around the world, since it asks for country.

We do have television and internet, and don't live in igloos and ride dogsleds to school up here, so I guess you're right. Thank you America for giving us modern technology. God bless the USA.

PS: NYC is a lot like Toronto, the largest Canadian city. Does that make New York Canadian?
