Obviously the year of the lockout, what were your predictions?

The Sens would be a good bet, but this question is contingent on a lot of things with how the CBA would have turned out. For example, if we get the same CBA, just without the lockout, we probably just shift things forward in time a bit. The Canes would still have gotten the various players who popped free from the cap and allowed them to become one of the best teams in the league, while guys like Ron Francis don't necessarily retire, and things don't change much from how 2006 turned out.

If we're playing under pre lockout rules, things are different.

Gotta agree, Ottawa was looking strong then. Just a good healthy goalie...

Ott would of had a real strong team I also feel that Calgary would have done rather well.

The Flames would have improved some. They probably make the WCF.

Montreal Expos

.... what? They always win during the completely locked out years, even if it's not in the same sport.

Bertuzzi would have still been suspended for the 05 season I don't think Van would have been as strong as 04.

Vancouver without Bertuzzi doesn't deserve to be in the conversation.

Also, looking at the Colorado roster, remember that Selanne is essentially useless if he didn't take the season off for knee surgery. Goaltending is also an issue for the Avs.

My bet would have been Ottawa & Detroit, with a very heated Detroit and Colorado CF. Ottawa wins.

One of my favourite teams I've ever watched. Bondra was a lot of fun to watch.. I remember that beauty PP that had Alfie playing the point on one unit and Bondra on the point for the 2nd unit. Havlat and Hossa were so much fun to watch. And of course, Chara. I couldn't believe my eyes when they chose to keep Redden over Chara.

Pre or post-lockout rules? And the CBA would have greatly affected where people would have signed so I have no idea.

Assuming the lockout never happened and everything stayed the same? Who knows, all though Ottawa was fairly stacked and might of had a chance.....assuming they don't face the Leafs

Honestly, I am a Detroit hater btw, but I think Detroit would've, but I bet they make a big TD acquisition in that lockout year.
