Hopefully some of you troll Bob Stauffer real good today, LOL. ''He could spend 2-3 years in the KHL'' and all that non-sense he was spewing.

Since he is a Russian, couldn't he just leave anyway? What does this contract actually prove? just curious.

well considering that he could only sign for what was part of the CBA--not too much of a shock

He's not going to leave anyway. He wants to play in the NHL more than anything.

He can't legally leave and if there is a lockout and he chooses to play in the KHL, once the NHL is back he would be bound by contract to return to the Oilers.

4. The KHL and NHL respect each other’s contracts. Both parties recognize and support the main principle: players under contract with a club from one league cannot fulfill any obligation to a club from another league during the term of the player’s contract.

Now people can back away from the ledge...although creating extra drama for yourself does have a place.

That was arguably before the agreement between the KHL and NHL.
