I thought they would have made a little show out of his signing with a press conference etc so it's a little underwhelming just to hear "he's signed" and it's all over. Never had any doubt he'd sign though.
He really doesn't strike me as a greedy guy just after the $$$... I get the vibe that he genuinely wants to work hard and make it at the NHL level and show what he can do. Very dedicated and focused player on the ice.
Can't wait to see him in the lineup and I have the feeling every one of the Oilers elite players are going to feed off each others energy and talents and push each other higher and higher. Should be a fun decade ahead of us.

Oh i'm sure somebody will say something to him about it, and if not, then Cherry will chastize him on HNIC and cause him to become impotent like he did with Ovi...Ovi hasnt been the same player since he stopped celebrating goals with style (and its kind of hypocritical that Cherry would say something like that about somebody with style, considering he wears tablecloths and bad 70s style curtains for suits).

Yeah because Ovy is a Russian and Theo is a Canadian. You could put Fleury in Paterno's place and Cherry would likely be on his side, that's just how damn ignorant and pompous the guy is.

I wouldn't have been too surprised if Yakupov was being offered for Weber, but the Oilers couldn't negotiate a contract. We already know Tambo was in talks with Weber's camp. I know, I know, a whole bunch of "What if's" and it's kind of redundant to discuss because it ultimately didn't happen...

Galchenyuk and Murray were signed around the same time too. So does that mean they were gonna sign Weber too?
My take (unrevealed inside top secret CIA Kremlin sources)... they wanted Omark in return for Weber but they had Omark demo his game to insure he was healthy and Omark dipsied when he should have doodled and thus the deal was scuttled.
