We moved 6 million in roster hit out for Nash's 7.8 million.
Theoretically, that leaves room for Doan. Reasonably.

Brady Skjei doesn't appear to be far from playing in the NHL.
Miller is not far from playing in the NHL.
Entry level contracts.

Holy ****! What a day to be a Ranger fan.
This is an ideal scenario. Keep Miller, DZ, Hagelin.

Well that sure is a thing
Rangers don't give up anything big but I feel like their depth is gonna take a hit. What's the third line like now?
??-Boyle-Pyatt??
Who am I forgetting

Agree completely. I'd hate to trade a 2013 number 1 draft choice from what appears to be a pretty good draft.

Agreed. Now the Rangers don't have as much depth and their bottom 6 is looking kind of iffy again.

That would be some squad if Doan joins.

Thanks for taking Nash out of the Central and not putting much in return to replace him, guys.

I hate this trade. It cost us our defensive depth, our offensive depth and a 1st round draft pick to bring Nash. One step forward, two steps backwards.

I'm not even a Dubi fan, but it's odd to think about such a home-grown core piece finally being shipped off.
Not much to argue with here I guess.

Not if they sign Doan and move Hagelin to the third line. They move 5.2M is salary in this deal.

So Tim Erixon got included despite Columbus fans saying they would have no interest, and certain fans here saying he absolutely would not be traded.
I guess the GMs make the trades after all.

YES this is a great deal, good luck to Dubi and AA. Poor Erixon, lol but NYD strength is LD and they drafted the kid this yr in the first round as well. 1st should be a late one
It gives Miller, Thomas a shot in camp as well.
LW is great with Nash, Kreider, Hagelin
Nash, Richards, Callahan
Kreider, Stepan, Gaborik
Hagelin, Boyle, Pyatt
Rupp, Halpern, Asham

Does Nash play PK? Otherwise our PK is going to be hurt without Dubinsky, Anisimov, Fedetenko, and Prust. Who is left? Boyle, Callahan, Stepan? Do Halpern and Pyatt PK? Rough guess at lines:
Gaborik - Richards - Nash (depending on chemistry)
Callahan - Stepan - Kreider
Pyatt - Boyle - Hagelin
Rupp - Halpern - Asham
Great top 6 but, its our bottom 6 that worries me. Need more depth.

If Nash plays the way he's capable of this is a ridiculous steal.
Really unhappy about Erixon leaving. He was ready for 3rd pairing minutes this season. They must love McIlrath and Erixon.
Now Doan!

Losing Dubi and AA for Nash opens a foward spot for one of our Young guys coming up, Maybe Fasth, Miller, Zuc, or Thomas. Nash can play two way hockey, he's big and has the skill this team needs. Big Win for us.
