So this is a great deal I think we can all agree. I have a feeling Zuccarello is punching himself in the face, the dummy would fit on a 3rd line right now. Too bad for him , it gives Miller and Thomas a shot in camp.

Lets hope McIlrath can get to the show cause they need RD if Sauer is out. Although I beleive Sauer will be ok.

right now depth on D is
McD, Girardi
Staal, Sauer
Del Zotto, Stralman
Bickel

so if Sauer is out someone has to step up. McIlrath hopefully if not a vet UFA D on the cheap

At worst, if the Rangers win the Cup, it's a couple spots lower. At best, the 2013 draft is the same, and the Rangers either underachieve or have a similar season and they get a (better) pick in a better draft.

Howson was holding the cards the whole time...................

to bad he was holding deuce seven

Awesome trade for New York! You have to give to get, but Sather was able to hang onto Stepan, Miller, Thomas, Hagelin, Del Zotto, Kreider, Staal... and hit the cap for only about $2 million.

Now go get Shane Doan!

lines? (I personally like the depth idea, without the overload in the Top 6)

Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Nash - Stepan - Callahan
Kreider - Boyle - Doan
Pyatt - Rupp - Asham

Girardi - McDonagh
Staal - Del Zotto
Stralman - Sauer/McIllrath/Bickel

King Henrik
Biron

... sweet jesus...

no top pairing was able to deal with Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik when their game was on.

What 2nd pair could handle Nash, Stepan, Callahan?

What bottom pair wants to go up against Boyle, Kreider, and Doan?

The Rangers could play the matchups in their favor ridiculously well.

I thought I heard that McIlrath was out with a serious injury. Any news on when he will be ready to play?

Howson in his defense, got a better offer now than at the deadline.

Dubi, AA, Erixon, 1st is better than the deadline offer imo.

Great deal by Sather. He absolutely fleeced Columbus. He gave up less talent than he did at the deadline. A Hall of Fame move by Sather. If Nash gains his scoring touch that he once had, it could be one of the most lopsided deals in recent memory.

CLB had no leverage at all.

Thank you Mr. Sather.

Depends on how you look at it. Anisimov and Duby are both roster players. Miller has the potential to be better than Anisimov imo.

This trade shouldn't surprise anyone. Most of the level headed people were calling pretty much this exact trade for a while now.

For every good move Sather makes, he usually makes a bad one. I am hoping he does not grossly overpay for Doan, but as Brooks has said all along Sather wants both of them, not one. I expect Doan will get a ridiculous offer from us that will be hard for him to turn down. Time will tell.

I'm really going to miss Dubinsky and Anisimov. Dubinsky especially was a big part of organization the last few years and definitely helped us get on our feet. I wish them both the best.

Nash had the best years of his career playing under Ken Hitchcock. Very similar coach to Torts. Nash scored 78 goals in Hitch's 2 full years as Columbus coach. Playing with Richards or Stepan.....
