Here's what the Tim Horton's cup will say-
It was very tough to trade Rick, but we feel we got a very good return. He was a tremendous captain and leader, but it was time to make a change for our hockey club. We wish Rick the best, but are very excited for the new players.
"Cooling on the trade the longer I sit here, to be honest."
He should be, he didn't get one ****ing guy with top line upside. Oh whoopie he got a late first round pick, this ****ing guy is ruining this franchise. Trying to follow the Nashville mold will quickly burn this, those ****ers haven't won a damn thing themselves. How do you not get one guy with top line upside for Nash? Even Jeff Carter god a better return.
Yep. The current leadership group has been taking over the team since before the end of last season. There's no reason to wait. Actually, I think waiting would harm the team in the short term. Having just traded the "face," the team needs as strong a sense of identity out of the gate as it can get, and it's hard to achieve that without a new captain.
Honestly guys at this point in mid july your return for Nash could have been much much worse. I thought at this point max Howson was getting was 3 pieces. Dubinsky you guys will love him, last year was just a down year for him like Nash. Dubi will help you guys. If you guys have AA on the 3rd line that will help. In the end the biggest piece from this deal prob will be Tim Erixon. He would have been on atleast 25 teams starting D last year but we had a stacked D. You guys could have got worse. Now do you guys wish u had taken the offer at the trade deadline or todays offer if you had a gun to your head?
