What exactly are you going to give us? Any deal involving him would have to start with Johansen.

I'm not even going to allow myself to think it.

Although if the Ducks do want a 2nd line center ... hmmmmm

Already had:

R.J. UMBERGER 6'2 220
RYAN JOHANSEN 6'3 192
DERRICK BRASSARD 6'1 199 (though he is always thought of as small)
VINNY PROSPAL 6'2 195
COLTON GILLIES 6'4 208
CODY BASS 6'0 205
DARRYL BOYCE 6'0 200
all these are listed as centres but with such a logjam Foligno probably plays LW and other centres willneed to take a wing spot to stay--you can only play 4 centres...
----------------------------------------------
In addition they have other centres:

Mark Letestu 5'11 195
Andrew Joudrey 5'11 185
Derek McKenzie 5'11 178
Ryan Russell 5'10 180

obviously these smaller centres are in tough to try to keep a spot now--certainly not at centre..
That may be the best thing, especially if we are to use Atkinson and Calvert to any extent is that we now have a lot of size.

Ouch. And why do the CBJ continue to call me asking me to come back as a season ticket holder?

I will hold off judgement until the final roster is set for 2012-2013 but as of now this looks pretty awful.

Oh well, continue the misery.

Sorry guys, you have our condolences.

As Sens fans, we get the whole "not getting full value for a player because he's controlling his fate with his NTC" thing. It's a rough ride, don't wish that on anyone.

Best of luck, I hope Dubinksy has a career year.

Sharks fan coming in peace.

It seems like most of the hockey world thinks you guys got hosed, but to me it feels like you guys have actually done pretty well in filling out the holes of your team. (granted i'm not too versed with your squad.)

But it seems to me if Johansen, Atkinson, Calvert, R. Murray and Erixon, all play this year you guys will have a really solid lineup top to bottom.

Is this what you guys are looking at next year?

Prospal - Brassard - Johansen
Umberger - Dubinsky - Atkinson
Foligno - Anisimov - Dorsett
Calvert - Mackenzie - Boll

R. Murray - J Johnson
Nikitin - Wisniewski
Erixon - Tyutin

Bobrovsky
Mason

Here's too Rick Nash being your guys' Patrick Ewing!

This will make you feel better, check it out.

but we got fleeced. We got crap back for our best player in history. Picture trading Sakic for Sean Avery.

Bittersweet day. I respect each and every thing Nash did or tried to do while wearing a Blue Jacket but I wish him nothing but the best wearing a Blue Shirt. I think it's the best move for him.

Howson did not get fleeced. Dubs is great. Arti will be. Good solid pieces for a change. I thought we were playing rebuild here, not dancing with the stars? Premiere talent isn't coming to the hell that is now Columbus. We have to make our own future, not borrow someone else's. It isn't going to be easy but I think you'll see it isn't that tough either. We have a good team. Now that the drama is over, we can move on to hockey.

I'll be there.

Ok, perspective. We got valuable players in the deal. We didn't get any all-stars. I'm not even prepared to discuss who got fleeced until next season plays out and until we see what happens with Erixon.

On paper I am very meh with the deal. We certainly gave up the most talented proven player in the mix. But we figured that was going to happen.

With as many good defensive prospects as we have, do we role the dice and trade a Tyutin? We have options and a lot of tradable assets.

Sens fan coming in peace.

I know this hurts... I felt the same way about the Heatley trade a few years back for us - eerily similar situation too (requests trade, then uses NTC to block a good deal, forcing GM to accept inferior deal).

CBJ fans need to know that it will get better though. Redemption will come. For Ottawa it came with Michalek having a breakout year and significantly outperforming Heatley this year. I don't know how/when it will come for you guys, but it will...

I will be booing Nash every time he touches the puck as a sign of solidarity for you fans. Hold your head up. Things WILL get better.

Probably worth noting that the last time the Jackets got fleeced by Sather and the Rangers it was Zherdev/Fritsche for Tyutin/Backman.

Still not crazy about this deal, but feel that is worth noting.

I think you CBJ fans will enjoy Dubinsky, I did as a NYR fan. I wouldn't be shocked if he's captain of that team one day.

And Anisimov has talent, maybe it can come out in a different system.

Good luck to those two, and Tim Erixon, too.
