I wonder if they were Authentic or Premier? Probably a mix.

That's likely the number of jerseys sold by the Hockey Lodge, as they wouldn't likely have counts for non-controlled retail outlets. Also, you have to remember that they were severely limited in supply because they had to actually manufacture them as they were flying off the shelves.

I feel like we win this thread: Current Blue Chippers?

Edit: And I was being pretty strict with the borderline category.

That's not statistically accurate! Does not compute!

If it were like the Kings' marketing squad, it would have included a Devils and Preds' fans forgiveness/anger meters.

well considering some of the people who still work for the wild served under Hankins, the similarities are bound to come out...I think LA gives freer reign where their public image is concerned but I expect positive feedback for the occasional smarmy comment or tongue-in-cheek infographic will loosen the bounds bit by bit here. As long as they keep it to league smack talk they should be alright...

You HAVE to include Larsson in the borderline category!

I feel like the positive press and experiences the LA Kings have had with their biased social media take has created a bunch of reigned-in copycats. Not a bad thing (and I do think Minnesota has done a better job with it lately although they still lack at other things), just something I noticed. It's a copycat league.

We do have some women that help clearing junk off the ice during TV timeouts, though. They've got the shovels, more often than not.

I hear ya, I'm gettin' crazy here waiting for this season, it's so far still..

I'm thinking about getting that NHL Network season card thingy subscribe whatever. Anyone else have it? Can you recommend it, good quality, does it lag a lot? How do you watch the games, what other features, and how much does it cost? Thanks

Yea I had nhl gamecenter last year, the quality would be great some days and poor others, it didnt lag much, but if it did i could close and re-open the window and it would usually fix itself. There were a few days where I had trouble logging in to nhl.com and would miss the first period which was annoying, but yes I would recommend it. Living in a state that doesnt care at all about hockey, it's the only way for me to watch games

Depends on where you want to watch games.

TV or computer?

Personally, Center Ice is, now that almost everything is HD.

If you've got a nice TV hooked up to your computer, though, that line gets blurred.

GameCenter gives you access to old games as well, if that's something you'd actually use, it's potentially worth a lot.

Center Ice is ~149 a season, and I can't seem to find a valid price for GameCenter anywhere...

If you're just looking for games, I'd go Center Ice. But that's me.

I have a 42" Sony Vizio HD with a Roku streaming device (that I use for Netflix)....nothing special, but decent HD quality.

The one thing that caught my attention with GameCenter is the ability to watch games on my iPad and smart phones. That could be very convenient for me.....

I just found this review that compares the two services: GameCenter Live vs Center Ice

Yeah, watching a game on our phones is pretty awesome when you're not at home.

Not all these kids are going to make the team. Now that could definitely be because of performance and not all of our kids developing like we think they can now, but let's say best case scenario, Granlund, Brodin, Larsson, Zucker, Bulmer, Coyle all develop like we think they can, there's no spot for Phillips. Phillips is a top 6 player who just feels like is the odd man out.

To me if the Wild are likely to package any trade together for let's say our biggest need right now of a top 4 defenseman, I just see a package include Phillips and Clutterbuck being our likliest trade pieces. That's not necessarily a bad thing either, i'm not advocating trading Phillips and I do very much like his skillset, but if the Wild did trade him down the road in a package that solidified a Stanley Cup run for us? Then that's still him proving very usefull for us. That's just how i feel about it anyway.

That's what's going to happen to at least one of these guys. I've said it from day one, and I've also said Phillips is the likely odd-man out right now.

Does anyone remember/have video of Matt Johnson chasing Matt Cooke around swinging his stick over his head trying to clobber him? Cooke was on Vancouver at the time and I think it may have been during the playoffs. I think Johnson was suspended for it too. Or maybe this was just a dream of mine and never happened.

You are on something, and onto something. Yes, Johnson was chasing Cooke around, but that was only after Cooke took a two handed axe chop with his stick at Matt Johnson's foot.

This was in the '03 playoffs in a scrum after the game was over. Johnson was NOT suspended either... as he was the victim not the culprit as is usually the case when Cooke is involved.
