9 years was a long time ago..... After doing a little research though I found that Cooke was suspended 2 games for the spear but Johnson was also suspended 5 games for slashing Cooke with intent to injure. So it appears you were on whatever I was.

That was a difference incident... the Cooke axe chop to Johnson's foot did not involve any spearing, I think that incident came in the next game. Cooke's axe chop was never caught, and Johnson had never caught Cooke in that incident. Now, did it carry into the next game? We know how physical that series was, so probably... yes. But the Johnson "chasing Cooke" incident was in a scrum after a game, not during.

Got it, thanks for clearing that up. I'd really like to see video of it but there doesn't seem to be any.

Keep in mind, those were still the days when people were using VCR's to do their recordings more often than not. Not like now where people have their TV's hooked up through their computers and just record everything all the time.

Peopl, people, people, pretty sure this is what you were referring to Talon, and Johnson did fight Brad May on the opening faceoff of the next game, that equal to Cooke and Ruutu tool, but that still didn't solve Cooke and Ruutu running around like loose cannons, or us from scoring the last three games.

No, I was in no way referring to Pominville's OT winner vs the Canes...

EDIT: You cheeky *******! You edited the video clip to the right one before I hit quote!

...and to think we used to complain about his commentary... if we had only known the direction the team would go after him.... I'd love to have him back right now over Lapanta, and especially over the asshat that replaced him!

I wish this team would get serious about getting a real commentator instead though. We shouldn't have to "settle".

If we complain about Mike Goldberg we would complain about the second coming of Vin Scully. That's a given.

But yes, I would love to have the voice of the UFC as the voice of Minnesota hockey again.

We complained about him because he got a little to repeatable in his calls. Everything was a "big drive" etc... really retarded and uncreative and got tired of listening to through 82 games.

I disagree that we'd complain about anyone... we haven't had anyone I'd consider adequate yet even.

We need a new fresh voice to come in and become the next Al Shaver. Someone who "knows" the game inside and out, provides insight, and is creative on the fly with their calls, instead of just repeating a few tag lines.

Better solution.... just simulcast Kurtz and Reid on both TV and radio! It's been done before... Kurtz is awesome, let's just let him be the sole voice of the Wild with Reid continuing along as his insightful sidekick!

Jarick, logic isn't accepted in that thread!

Plus, somebody bashed your FRB article.

EDIT: "The Wild need a new coach first." Wow...

I can see why some people would think we won't make the playoffs which is fine as long as they back it up with something like, they haven't made it in 4 years, I think the defense is still suspect even with Suter, and even something like Backstrom is another year older and who knows how he'll hold up even if Harding is an okay goaltender. I get all that. The problem for me arises when people who have no idea about our team are discounting us entirely. and saying that we just weren't that good of a team last year and we were "lucky." Yes we may have been lucky to an extent last year, but not as far as everyone is saying that we were. We played bad for a long stretch there where we had massive injuries. I don't think people realize that we had to play Warren freaking Peters as our top line center for a game or two. We had Brodziak playing 2nd line center (who did an admirable job, but he's not a 2nd line center). We had no depth to call-up to replace top 6ers like we will this year (Coyle, Phillips, Zucker, Brodin, Bulmer, Larsson). And we added the top two free agents and somehow we won't make the playoffs? I find that hard to believe.

Thread from the main boards about sweaters.

The Wild sweaters seem to be a popular topic in this thread.
