That's pretty much the biggest thing that happened with Minnesota last season.

Not really.

Being on top of the league for 2 months was.

So was the Wild on top of the league.

It's pretty obvious what was bigger last season.

I'm thinking Granlund might be the type to try out a half dozen different kinds of sticks.

Side note, I found about 25 Havlat pro stock S19's at PIAS if anyone wants a 100 flex lefty with a godawful curve for $120.

Granlund doesn't need that many sticks because he never shoots.

Yeah I'm guessing those sticks are enough to get through the start of training camp, and then depending on if they like them, they'd get another couple dozen made up.

I believe NHL'ers go though 100-150 sticks each on average through the season, so a dozen sticks might only last 2-3 weeks.

Wouldn't go that far although it sums up the season well.

It's probably the lasting impression left on non-MN fans.

Really outside of the success into early December, what happened to the Wild? Butch got suspended at the start of the year, some guys were injured...then Setoguchi fell down on the shootout. I mean, from a national (especially Canadian) perspective, that's about it as far as they are concerned. They didn't have any statistical standouts or intriguing rookies or really anything. I suppose the Zidlicky mess could be in the mix as well. It was a pretty forgettable season.

It's true - lets be honest, the Wild have been the NHL equivalent of that quiet kid in high school who doesn't talk and no one really knows. Hell even locally the only talk about the team since January has been "what happened since the start?" and about Parise/Suter/Granlund.

That's because they played under Lemaire forever, and Risebrough was content to stick with Gabby and do nothing else. That old mental image of the Wild is going to be a tough one to break but it's gonna start this year.

That's one reason. It also doesn't help that they're a young team, play in a division where everyone is a thousand miles away and haven't made the playoffs in 4 years.

I hate the all white (or mostly all white) pads-trend the NHL is going to. Boring.

I don't mind it. I actually dislike the flashy helmets goalies use today.

Agree with that. Too busy and if you're not a foot away, you can't see the detail anyway.

I hate the mostly white... like with a thin red or whatever color pin stripe.
These make me go... "Meh"

Meanwhile, I love these:

Or even these, with different colors:

If the pads are all white or all a single color, i have less of an issue with that.

Well said - that's the Wild dilemma in a nutshell.
