Kassian is turning into the guy that said Parise was going to make his decision in 5 minutes, and then it turned out to say he needed more time. But then he signed with the Minnesota Wild. Wait! Thats us!
I can tell you one thing, Don Fehr and the players are winning the public relations battle and that ain't even close. I'm with the players in that there is no reason they can't play a season under the old CBA as long as both sides are still negotiating in good faith. Just the owners being the greedy ******** they are.
I was with them cause every sport should have a salary cap last time, now they're being ridiculous.
If there is another lockout they are just shooting themselves in the foot. I don't know how they think they could possibly come back with better ratings.

There is one very, very good reason that the owners might not want the season to start under the old CBA:
One of Fehr's favorite tactics is to call a strike right before the playoffs.
If both sides were to sign no strike/lockout pledges that last until the end of the 2013 playoffs, however, then there would be no reason to not start the season. I highly doubt Fehr would be willing to do that, and I am doubtful that ownership would do that either.
I'm still slightly hopeful, but the closer this drags out to the start of camp, the more worried I get.
Unfortunately, you have to be an espn insider to read the article.
Oh damn, I'm not either. But the text before the link to the article read:
Cap & Crunch
With the collective bargaining negotiations ongoing, a proposed change to the salary cap could end up hamstringing some teams financially, including the Sabres, Rangers and Wild.
So I guess, I was posting this article because I haven't heard that yet. Granted, I haven't followed every step of the CBA discussions but I haven't heard that current contracts being negatively effected (only them rolling back the cap hit in the case of lowering payroll and future contracts for prospects being extended to 5 years instead of 3 years).

(oh noes! the writer mentioned injuries! didn't he read the even strength away Corsi when there were an even number of left and right handed players on the roster during a low tide?)
Other returning homegrown players include defensemen Clayton Stoner, Justin Falk and Chad Genoway, who Fletcher signed to new deals (Nick Palmieri, a restricted free agent, is still unsigned). Depth forwards Stephane Vellieux and hometown boy Chad Rau were also re-upped, while AHL veteran Brian Connelly was added for depth on defense.
