Finger's replacement but too bad this couldn't be Komisarek if he would only agree to waive his NMC.

PLAN THE PARADE!

But in all seriousness you can't go wrong with signings like this. Create some more competition amongst the prospects while adding some depth. If we end up having enough prospects who are good enough to fill up the AHL team then he can slide to the ECHL, if we don't and the prospects need more time to develop elsewhere, he can plug the hole on the AHL team. No need to rush the players.

I only say the the thread title for a second at first. I saw "Confirmed with link" and 'Dylan' can be rearranged to 'Yandl'. Needless to say my heart jumped a little, then I say who it actually was, someone I had never heard of before haha.

Would it not be a direct result of the staff members and players that Brian Burke has kept around and brought into this organization?

Thus the praise these people are giving Burke is completely appropriate.

That's funny, because for a sec I also thought that it said Keith Yandle.

Who are these staff members that are so impressive and shuffling players on and off the team without on ice success isn't something that should be praised .

Why not? Both played integral parts in the Marlues run, and both are Leaf prospects.

Add to that Kadri, D'amigo (huge playoff run), Scrivens, Holzer...

Considering the Marlies will be losing Gardiner, Holzer, Mikus, Finger, and Lashoff, it makes leaves spots open for guys like Kostka and Yeo.

The Marlier relied on more prospects than most of the teams they played in the AHL playoffs, and I do include Frattin and Gardiner as part of that success. Those playoff games are very important to a players development.

thank you for being common sense !

not only filling the holes but bringing experienced guys to help the young players develop, creating a perfect atmosphere for prospect development

total win scenario !

Well, never heard of him. But from what I'm reading should be an Ok AHL signing.
People seem to forget that by improving the Marlies and giving them a modicum of playoff success, it creates a winning culture among those guys. The time will come when our prospects climb the ladder to the Big Blue and filter out the non leaf acquisitions. Heck, by the time some of these guys are in the line up, Eakins might just make the jump as well, with a couple more year experience.

The real question is why do you consider Gards and Frattin AHLers when both spent the majority of the season with the Leafs ?

Great signing.. What some people are unable to see on boards is madness... They complain none stop about about Burke signing bad contracts, but want him to sign a bad contract via free agency...

He is starting to progress in his plan I believe. Kostka, Yeo, gysbers resigned... This to me screams Holzers on his way up, which would be great... And perhaps he is just bringing in experienced players to help our youth develop, and that's something to bash Burke on ? Some people need to take up a different sport...like knitting

Who is to say the leafs don't make the playoffs this year anyways ? and if the Marlies make it as well, awesome.

I didn't say Frattin and Gards weren't part of there success ( although Gards had a avg playoff at best ) . I said i didn't consider players who spent the majority of the season with the Leafs ( Gards only played 4 regular season games in the A ) marlies .
