I don't want Bouwmeester at all. Especially not for that price, and especially not when the defense we have carried us to the Cup Finals.

Does anyone know anything about Ryane Clowe's availability? He's another damn good power forward that would look good here.

Another great suggestion, but if I were Wilson, I`d look elsewhere if I want to make a shake-up.

I don't believe in that playoff curse nonsense, but I don't think he's a guy we'd win with.

I'm surprised the Sens are even buying him out, I thought they liked him?

Just 2 years ago they were suggesting 25-30 goal potential for him and after one bad season it appears they've given up. I feel like he'd be a shrewd no risk high reward signing.

The Devils do have good luck with guys named Bobby whose last name is an occupation.

I agree with you. I wouldn't mind Lou picking him up.

This could be like the Semin to Pittsburgh rumor that haad everyone rolling.
But Rutherford has been pretty vocal about being interested in Semin, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were true.

Dmitry Chesnokov ‏@dchesnokov
My source who is close to Semin on Semin signing w/ @NHLCanes: "It's true." So, Alexander Semin is set to play in Carolina next year.

Chesnokov is one of the most reliable journalists when it comes to Russian players

Ugh, the fact that we couldn't commit to a 1 year deal for Semin makes me think these financial constraints are indeed real.

It doesn't prove anything.
Perhaps Semin wanted to stay in the South East.
Perhaps the Canes showed the most interest.
Perhaps Lou didn't pursue as hard as us fans did.
Perhaps the Canes threw some stupid money at him.

Could be anything, really.

Well, looks like plan D...

Too bad. Thought things looked well positioned for him to be brought in to the fold.

Not sure there is an impact forward left to be realistically had. Discounting Doan as I don't think he'd be headed here and his age will place him on the decline.
