I watched one of the warm up games like 3 weeks ago just because Doc was calling it.

Final today, Croatia - Italy.

After the handballers lost, Croatia's only remaining chance to win a team event gold.

I hope they end up winning like they did in our group match (11-6 for Croatia), but I'm afraid of another heartbreak.

They have to play defense as they did thus far (USA didn't score on Pavić for more than 18mins and Montenegro didn't score on him for more than 16mins), they can't let Felugo, Gallo, Figlioli and company shot without being contested like Serbs let them. Pavić needs to have another big game as well.

Croatia wins water polo gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done boys, what a way to end your national team career for Barač, Hinić and Vićan. Thank you for an amazing Olympic games boys. Such dominance is rarely seen in water polo.

Croatian gold water polo players at these Olympics:

Damir Burić, Miho Bošković, Nikša Dobud, Maro Joković, Ivan Buljubašić, Petar Muslim, Andro Bušlje, Sandro Sukno, Samir Barač, Igor Hinić, Paolo Obradović, Frane Vićan and last but certainly not the least, our goalie and our best player Josip Pavić.

They were led by:

Ratko Rudić (by far the best coach of all time, not just in water polo), Elvis Fatović and Vjeko Kobeščak.

Congratulations. I expect the whole country was glued to it. Funny how certain events must attract huge audiences whereas here they barely raise a flicker.

I expect Argentinans were glued to Khrismanich winning a taekwondo goal and Indians trying to see if Kumar could win them their only gold of the Games in the wrestling.

Nice piece of history with Sandro Sukno too. Comprehensive win.

Thanks for your congratulations.

We have a 3rd Sukno on the way in Sandro's brother and he should be a great player just like his brother and father, hopefully he and Sandro will win another gold for Sukno family in Brazil.
