Come on Hammer. Let's go 1-2-3. No more of this "make it interesting" stuff.

Gotta give this game ball to Fort. I mean the guy just kept killing it today.

Have to give the Fort a lot of credit. We would lose this game without him.

Not to rain on the raising of the jolly roger too soon, but Cincy just won at almost the exact same time, so we needed this terribly sad game from Houston. Given how the Reds are winning, let's go for the jugular and the four-game sweep, but splitting the next two would be fine.

As if this game wasn't enough, salt in the wound is that the guy who was probably the Astros best starter just a few days ago is now starting against them tomorrow night.

You don't need to be diplomatic about the probably, Wandy was their best starter.

I feel bad for Astros fans...but I've been in those shoes too many times to feel really bad.

The Reds...**** those guys. I swear the only Reds fan I've ever encountered in my life is married to my sister.

Absolutely. And yet, Rod will continue to get the majority of the starts..

I agree that Fort should get more starts than Rod.

He is better than Rod defensively, but I wish he had a big league throwing arm. People are stealing at will against both of them.

Rod calls a better game, both have lousy arms, both are mediocre defensively (McKenry gets a slight edge), and Fort has a better bat.

I'm expecting a fairly decent 50/50 split the rest of the way with the pitcher having a lot of power over who starts. I've never liked the idea of personal catchers, but some pitchers just are more comfortable with certain catchers than others...so we're not going to see McKenry catch a Burnett game unless Barajas is hurt, but yeah...McKenry should be starting a 3/5 split instead of a 2/5.

Regardless, the Fort's bat has gotten him into more games than expected at this point and his role has increased as the season has gone along.

It's insane that the Red Sox basically gave us the Fort for free last year because they felt bad that our top 4 catchers were all hurt. Look at him now.
