What is contract status for Sanchez? I don't think he's a rental.
Under team control until 2016, arbitration eligible next year I believe.

The guy makes 500 K for the rest of this year and next. If he rebounds next year, he'll get paid in arbitration after the 2013 season. if he doesnt, no big financial loss.
I still think Carlos lee for nothing would have been nice, but they seem to be buying for the future so I can't complain.
Hell they're actually trying to make the team better so ill take it.
Carlos Lee would be a rental. I just found out that Sanchez is under our control until 2016.
I really like what Neal did at deadline. We got 3 solid players who will be with Bucs at least 2 more years. We only gave up Gorkys, Lincoln, 3 prospects and comp pick. Not too shabby.

Pretty charitable calling Snider a solid player. The guy has zero track record in the majors and there's at least as good a chance that he's a complete bum as anything else.

At the very least he'll be a young Matt Stairs. Power out the ass, but may not hit more than .240. Average outfielder.
Man if we had gotten Sanchez before this year I would be dancing in the street. Obviously the shine is off after the year he's had but it's still a good low-risk move. I think we're better than we were a week ago even though I hate losing Lincoln.
So what happens with Mcgehee? Is this the end of him?
Bench player who will spot Alvarez a spot on occasion. His bat is too inconsistent to have him out there five nights a week, especially with Jones starting to come around to hitting lefties.

He will be fine. He just needs to play more often to be consistent.
