Keothavong wins first set 6-4. Another Woz choke coming up in a major tournament?

No doubt from shooting himself so often in it earlier today.

It was apparently bothering him earlier in the week too, but we all know how some tennis players are about predating their injuries. It's just so stupid though that he didn't withdraw or tank earlier and rest his foot. He's so much better on grass and he made such a fuss to get in too.

Hoootttt....

She turned the game around, up 5-2 in the 3rd and serving for the match.

From what I saw, easy first set win for Juan Martin. I actually thought that Dodig might give him a bit of a struggle in the first round, but apparently not....and Ivan puts up only minimal resistance in the second set for an easy 6-1 win for Del Potro. Good start for him.

Dodig would have done better but he has third round points in Canada to defend a week from now.

End of first day and Tomas Berdych, Samantha Stosur and Li Na bite the dust, and Roger gets a bit of a scare.

Schedule for tomorrow. Murray-Wawa obviously the highlight. So happy they put Goffin on Court 1. Hopefully this means it will be televised. Federinka up against Nishikori and Soeda on Court 2.

Murray has to go all out for the singles medal now that he's out of the doubles. J.Murray cost his.

Murray most definitely was NOT medaling in doubles. But hey, there's always mixed if he qualifies.

I didn't expect him too but it would've been nice to see him get somwhere.

Melzer is a really good doubles player. Won the US Open last year and just reached the Wimbledon semifinal. Peya's not bad either. Probably would have been an upset if the Murrays had won.

Berdych's level seems to have gone down lately correct?

With a first round loss at Wimbledon to Gulbis and a quarterfinal exit to Haas at Halle before Wimbledon, and now this, yes, very much so. With his lifetime .704 record on grass, it's mystifying.

Where do they find a guy to replace Kohlschreiber? Just pick a guy who was there only playing doubles?

Yeah, the alternates come from the doubles entries. The highest ranked alternate (in singles) will replace him. Too lazy to find out who that is right now.
