From Autograph:

Quote:
Head to Head or H2H scoring, is where you face off against the same opponent for a week's time. If there are say, 13 categories, your team's players are fighting for the most points/statistical gain to win the category, and therefore win the week by winning the majority out of 13 categories. If you tie in a category (let's say, 1 S/O each for your goalies), you gain a tie marker. H2H is easier to identify weaknesses in any given team, and also the overall easier style of stat-tracking.

Thus, your record for that week would be, for example, 9-4-0. Then, that record would most likely be translated into points (2 for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss) means 18 points and therefore, your place in the standings.
Or, 6-6-1 is a possibility.

Head to Head Points (H2HP) is where your team faces off against an opponent for a week's time, but instead of counting each category as a win/loss record, you simply win or lose based on point totals.
Points are cumulative and not separated by category; however, each category would have different point values. Goals could be worth three points, faceoffs could be two points, and hits/blocks could be only one point. It's up to the commissioner how each category is weighted and it can very quickly change the "needs" for a team if at some point the commissioner (by popular vote) decides to change weights of certain categories.

Therefore, your record for a week would be 0-0-1 if your points total tied, or 1-0-0.

Also, there's a reason why Yahoo! leagues only offer H2H standard as the only option for non-custom leagues. Non-custom leagues only last for 1 season, usually.

Custom leagues have the benefit of either H2H or H2HP for that added benefit.

Categories are better imo as it makes you build a complete team in order to wi n, I don't see how points is worthwhile as someone can just stack all of one player type to gain points.

H2h makes you pay attention to the details and weaknesses of your team. The example auto uses is valid you draft a 350 hit guy and he can a category for you, but that's only one category in itself and if that player can't do anything else then r is still not as useful as a well rounded team that can beat you in all other categories. Then things like needing a faceoff specialist come into play in order to win faceoff category which more simulates real life conditions.

It's 10-6 with three people left to vote. H2HScoring automatically wins.

Heh

But let's say u stack all hits as enforcers on your team, in h2h u win one category out of like 12 so u will always lose.

In h2hp ou can stack an entire team of hit and enforcers and you can beat your opponent without ever having your players score a goal or get a point. Doesn't seem realistic that way to me

That's not true at all. You make hits worth considerably less than goals and assists.
