I'm sure it's all term keeping them out of it.

All it takes is for one signing of decent proportions and all will be better.

probably a lot. I don't know honestly. Probably something along the lines of what Atlanta got for Hossa or Kovalchuk?

Doan's hang-up for leaving PHX is / will be proven to be term IMO. He's not going to leave for an extra mil a year and the same term. He's going to need the security of a contract to age 39 or something like that to leave.

Way more than what Shero would be willing to. Not even worth discussing.

Really wouldn't want to be the team that overpays Doan anyway. He brings a lot to the table in terms of battle/compete level and leadership but his offense isn't what it used to be. I'd say he's worth about 5 million/per for a couple years but any more years/money and it'll become a contract that looks bad in a hurry, imo.

More. Calgary has convinced itself they're still contending. Have to pay full price for him, not as a rental.

Time for Shero to get shrewd.

We were never getting doan, ever.

But I really feel for sid...****ing kennedy or kunitz and dupuis again? After you took a discount and after struggling with injuries? Absolutely no one on his line to command any attention....again

I hope they have something planned, only AK is left in FA

I can tell you are still disappoint and it's affecting your judgement.

Calgary will want a decent scoring F back in addition to whatever future studs they might seek. Cooke won't cut it by a long shot. Realistically Kunitz would be the only option, plus some other younger, top assets. Pouliot would be a start.

If you move to KC I recommend Google Fiber. Keeps you regular.

I think the Penguins have a plan, whether it's AK or trade option.

From July 9.

Had a quick conversation with Pens GM Ray Shero about something unrelated to free agency, but of course it comes back to free agency...

Shero likes his team, but of course if there is something to make them better he will. He doesn't see much on the market now, though.

Shero did mention there are a few guys (didn't name names), but it didn't sound like he's going bonkers pursuing them now.

Those quotes do not lift my spirits at this particular time as they sound like the same quotes given any other time of year / season.

In fact, whether Shero is 10 minutes away from starting TK and Duper on the Top 6 or 10 minutes away from pulling a Bobby Ryan trade, I think his responses to those type of media questions will always be the same.

"Shero likes his team, but of course if there is something to make them better he will"

I hate it when he says that. Like he is going to do something that will not make his team better. Him & Blysma have mastered the art of having words come out there mouths with out saying anything.
