Cal is so awkward on television, but he actually says some interesting things. You'd think they'd have given him some actual practice before the post-season though.

Also, such as Orioles homer.

Being my former team wishing the O's some luck and a win tonight.

Nats and the Cards...tough match up. Gio and Zim need to lock those first two games down.

could you imagine an interpreter having to come out onto the ice during a hockey game?

Get off the damn field

Call was terrible, but (other than Philly) there's not a team/fanbase I'd sympathize with less. Payback for Hudson's terrible call a couple weeks ago.
Agreed. Besides if the Braves fans want to whine and cry they can complain about their own teams three errors and ten men left on base.

Medlen was so arrogant and cocky in an interview I saw yesterday I'm glad he lost.

Well, its not like the pitcher can go into the dugout if he's not leaving the game (the way a player could just go to the bench), so there's not much of a parallel to draw there...

The interview Fox (?) did with Medlen during the last Braves-Nats series made him seem pretty nice, but I'm glad he finally lost. His streak was getting him too many questionable calls on balls/strikes and that momentum was just getting annoying from the perspective of someone who doesn't like the team.

Will it be Strop?

e; Still O'Day to start the 8th.
e2; Now Matusz to face Hamilton with 2 outs. Looks like Buck's faith in Pedro is finally gone. Love Matusz as a left specialist, though.

Yeah, Strop is probably behind Hunter and maybe even Arrieta by now. At least, he should be.

Nega Scott on that . Happy for the O's fans here. Great hearing Cal being color guy for a bit. 2nd to last baseball game I saw was a game at Camden where Cal hit 2 home runs but lost. Still love Camden Yards such a great ball park.

I hear we were 74-0 leading after 7. Bases juiced in the ninth... good lord here we go thinking they jinxed the whole thing. That is 1 impressive stat. I did laugh when they said it was leading the majors.

BRS yeah I know the waves of foreign pitchers taking over baseball leads to special situations like last night, were there were easily 10-15 people milling around the mound for minutes on end. It just seemed a bit overkill. He could give a simple thumbs up or down and say what he told the interpreter. Baseball is a game of delays which may be annoying to fans of faster paced sports. From it was born the 2 TV living room setup.

It wouldn't be a Jim Johnson save unless it was interesting.

Clutch hitting from Moore. Now keep it together.

There's a reason games typically start at 1/1:30 or 7, and rarely in between. You need to stake yourself out to an early lead because there are a good 5/6 innings in the middle of the ball game when the shadows are moving across the field. That's murder on hitters. It saved Gio Gonzalez' bacon, mind you.

He fields cleanly almost every time, but Zimmerman really has problems with that simplest of plays — throwing to first base. Hopefully, it won't prove too costly.

Nice. Clippard gets the out. 3-2, heading to the ninth inning.

Yeah that throw was Steve Sax-esque but they were able to overcome. Great comeback and a huge win.

The 2-3 format makes that kind of loss really sting. Best road record in the majors this year, for the Nationals, extending into the post-season.

Great win. Huge composure from the Nats, looked like they'd get blown out early on with Gio being wild and then the bases loaded no outs for St. Louis in the seventh.
