Will JVR be our Top Line Center?

I see many people who think JVR will be our top line center while others don't think it will work out. Decided to create a poll to get a more accurate representation of the number of people on each side. Included an option for 2nd line center as well just in case that is your opinion.

He's looked good in the pre-season games so far but we will need to see a little more.

He jasn't lost a faceoff in months. And not a single turnover either.

Bravo Moose and Pete. I must admit, I lol'd.

I was against the idea of moving him to Centre originally, however I've had a change of heart the past few days. I think it was all the talk about the Benn possible offer sheet. I thought about his transition from LW and how successful it ended up. Jvr is big, has good vision, and skates very well. Seems to possess the raw tools to play the position. We won't know a thing until training camp, but what a shot in the arm it would be for this team if he was able to convert successfully.

Well with our "great luck" as a franchise it wont be sucessfull. I do see it potentially working out with jvr playing all his college years at centre. i think its a 40% chance it works out. Hopefully im wrong

Based on this photo,

I think he'll have a 90 point season at center.

I'm wary, but I'll say no. I haven't seen a very successful move from wing to center in a very long time.

He's more of a puck possession, drive the net kind of a guy, but from what I've gathered from Flyers fans, he has a pretty well rounded game and could excel at anything, just needs to work at it a bit more (and from what I've heard he's a hard worker).

Patty Kane did a pretty good job this year when he was moved to C for a bit

Poll so far seems pretty decisive in people thinking he won't be a center. I think we all hope he works out at center, but majority doesn't think it will happen.

They might risk him as the first line center. But if that doesn't work they won't push the issue and transfer him to center just to play second line

I don't think so either, I just included that option in case someone wanted to vote for it (which nobody has haha), just wanted to make sure I covered all the possibilities.

I don't think he'll be a top line center either, but I've had it with people throwing the kid under the bus.

He has great size and crazy skill.
He was an extremely high draft pick.

Last year he averaged 16:11 TOI a game (2:47 PP), 14:31 (1:19 PP) the year before and 12:57 (1:24 PP) the year before that. That's less icetime last year than Kessel, Lupul, Bozak, Connolly and Grabovski, and less PPTOI than the big three. I bet he gets at least 17 minutes a game on the second line.

Center or not, if he stays healthy I pencil him in for 60 points, and eventually up to 80 points.

pretty much the case. We all would want it work out and be great for us but realistically doubt it is going to happen..

No, JVR will not play center at all. He has not done that since going pro.

I think he will fit in the bottom 6 somewhere.

Mats was never really thought of as a true playmaking centre with vision either. More the go to the net type, cycle type with a great shot/great backhand, etc..

I think he will be our top line C atleast that is what it seems like. There is some logic to why the management and coaching staff want to see him at C. Flyers had loads of C's at one point which is why maybe he was switched to Wing position and plus this gives Kadri a chance to play a top 6 role on the wing of Grabo.

Giroux was drafted as a RW. He's done pretty well.
