I've had trouble converting itunes music and I'm too far out of the loop to know how to break its drm. I have been getting music from amazon's mp3 section and have been happy with it.
Playstation 3 can do everything, right? Is it possible to get purchased itunes songs onto it? If you know how, please tell me.
Thank you.
If you've purchased the songs recently (within in last three years or so), I believe they're removed all of the DRM and the files should be playable on a PS3 without any modification.
Just get a USB flash drive and copy them onto there, then plug it into your PS3 and go to music and copy the folder onto your system.
You can also set up a media server if you don't have any type of portable drive.
I used this but can't totally recommend it because I didn't use it for long.
All you have to do with that is install it and then select your music folder as one that you want to share (should just be ~/Music/iTunes).

Tsk tsk, you never want to convert a lossy format to another lossy format.
I'm typically just a beer guy. Last night, I downed a bottle of Jack by myself. Not feeling too bad today (but a bit drunk still, perhaps). Drinking again tonight. After work. ****.
so who here has any experience moving a fair distance with a family? I know digable has, and gaf/jhg. Any tips from anyone?
Go to where you are moving to, find a place to live, buy/rent it. Go home, put all your stuff in a U-haul, drive it to your new place. You'll probably overlap a month where you are paying for both your old place and your new place. It's expensive and it sucks.
Yup, I'm moving next month (okay, only 5 minutes away) and I'm paying for two places for a week. Even that sucks.
Whoa, bigger, better place?
And yeah, if you can work it out that the day you move out is the same day you move in to the new place that is ideal. It's harder to do when you are moving long distance though. I was lucky, when I moved 200 miles from Buffalo I was able to stay with my dad for 3 weeks while we found a new place to live. After we got a place nailed down I went back to Buffalo and got all my stuff from the old apartment.
I got my iTunes songs onto my PS3. Worked exactly as you've all said.
Next question: I'm trying to import a playlist onto NHL12. The game recognizes the playlist, and each individual song, but says there is an error; it can't read the file format.
Rochester peeps - when's the DQ on Jefferson supposed to open? I drove by there last night thinking it already was. It looks done. But it wasn't open yet.
Well, seeing as how I didn't even know that was something you could earn a degree in, I can't help you.
That's really, really specific.
You could lump it in with Political Science I suppose. I will graduate in 2 years and my very last semester is wide open. At that point I would need only 3 credits to graduate. I'm wondering whether I should do an internship to fill the credits, or go study abroad and take a bunch of blow off classes.

I was about to ask whether or not it was another way of saying political science.
But, if studying abroad means going to Australia, definitely that.
The idea is to land a job with one of the many government intelligence agencies. I would love to do both, but during that school year (2013-2014) I will be going through OCS training with the National Guard and after the semester I am talking about is over so will the OCS training and then I have to begin the specific job training for some 18 weeks. I'm not sure I have the luxury to do both.
I have a couple of family members that live and work in the D.C. area and have connections to some agencies and departments down there. I figure an internship in D.C. would go a long way in helping land a job over there and to be noticed. A semester studying abroad sounds like a fun thing to do and all, but I am more in it to do whatever helps me land the job I want in the future.
I am trying to figure out between the two which is better suited to help me get to my end goal.
Question for all. What is the better idea for a college student; doing an internship or spending a semester studying abroad?
Depends on where and the internship.
DoS or DoD would be good spots. Working as a legislative intern will only help if your representative or Senator is on a committee that works in areas that are heavy IR. DoS is obviously almost completely IR centric. DoD is as well these days. If you're looking to see how national policy translates directly into strategic-operational plans and programs, then I'd go DoS/DoD. Plus, the politics won't get in your way. You'll be so far removed from political actors there that you'll really see how the organizations work.
If you can go abroad and get an to a country team at an embassy, you'll still get the policy to strat-ops plans and programs, but you'll be in a smaller group, so you'll see more. Plus, it's always great to live in another country. I lived in Germany for five years and South Korea for two years. I appreciate the perspective I received from living there.
BUT... go with the best internship. Don't shovel poop at an important place over doing something more meaningful at a smaller place.

Anyone know how to make that work? Thanks!
Do all of the songs actually play on the system?
Maybe you have a few DRM protected ones mixed in.
And if you're using a media server, I'm not sure if you can add songs from there.
All of mine are on the hard drive since it won't let me use my flash drive.
Spending the day making room for my special ladyfriend to move in tomorrow. I always forgot how much crap I have till I have to move it around...again.
