None. The Alex Semin Sub is a poorly sliced piece of bread with a slice of cheese and some lettuce, to accurately represent Semin's work ethic.

Half the sandwich is made perfectly, but the second half of the sub always falls apart.

I'm hoping to see some more opponents turned into bongos next season.

I'm hoping it's Marc Staal again.

I think we all know what its like to see a good player hit a cold streak, so any "streakiness" Semin may possess is not something new. Also, Jokinen was all but non-existant for me this past season, yet another player not playing up to their potential.

With regards to the penalties comments, Jeff Skinner took some of the stupidest/worst penalties I have ever seen. It seems like a maturity problem, but I feel as though Semin's stupid penalties can't seriously be much worse than some of the crap Skinner took.

Third, I would rather see Semin taking stupid penalties and scoring goals than see no Semin on our team at all. He gives this team a real opportunity to go deep in the playoffs. AND if he happens to take a bad penalty, we have one of the best two way forwards in the nhl on our PK, so I think we will be fine
Bottom line, is Semin's bad offensive zone and stick penalties stopped once Hunter came aboard. Boudreau allowed bad habits to fester, and Semin took a lot of stick penalties. I'm sure. Muller will keep him in line

Kind of wish he would have stuck with the Syomin spelling from the World Championships, just for the trouble it would cause local sportscasters. Cye-O-Mine.

Living in Canada, and being force fed this BS on literally, a daily basis, is why I will take extra special pleasure and pride in wearing my brand new Carolina Semin jersey with both pride, as a crazy Carolina fan, and disdain, towards all 7 Canadian teams. A Canadian team hasn't won s*** since 1993, and in my personal opinion, I hope that drought is still in it's infancy.

Thanks for the updates guys, shame he went back to Russia...the team boards are so much nicer than the main boards!

Will definitely be watching a lot more canes games next year to watch Semin, don't believe all the anti-Russian "he is lazy" propaganda, your team has just made a fantastic addition and he will wow you on a regular basis...

IMO there is no way Semin doesn't help this team. The question is how much he helps, a lot or a little.

He's the ultimate fan-boy announcer. If guys are friendly with him, they are immune to criticism. He lights up like a kid when a player says "thanks, Tripp" at the end of an interview.

D ain't bad, you guys are kinda soft tho, no I'm not a Habs fan. Hard to believe that you guys had to spend just to reach the floor. I think you guy will make the playoffs.

Glad you guys were able to get a couple of big time players.

I think JR will add a little grit when he sees fit.

"Tripp, you of all people should know the periodic elements better than this." ha ha hockey on the other hand...

Please no more semin jam sessions though, I'm sure it's already an ongoing joke between the Staals.

That's the only thing I worry about. The roster is very similar to 2005, but the game has regressed back to the pre-lockout style of play. It's unfortunate for the game as a whole, but especially unfortunate for teams built on playing wide-open offense.

Well you have Kirk Muller so I wouldn't say that's an issue. Muller is an amazing thinker and is credited as the guy who stopped Ovechkin. If there's an issue with systems he'll likely be the one to figure it out.

I don't think we are as run and gun as the cup team. Our two centers (S11 and S12) are more grind 'em down, bruise and crush style of play than playing chase the puck up and down the ice at full tilt for 45 seconds.

Eric and Jordan can wear down the opposition, leaving room for Semin/Skinner/ Jokinen/Tlusty to operate.
