Not even a week into his tenure as a Hurricane and Semin has already delivered a smile that rivals Chad's:

There's a reason Winnipeg didn't give him Stewart a qualifying offer and nobody wanted him when we waived him last year: he sucks at hockey.

Despite facing the weakest quality of competition of any of our regular forwards *and* starting a greater percentage of shifts in the offensive zone than any of our regular forwards, Anthony Stewart had the second worst Corsi rating of any of our regular forwards.

He's an awful even strength player and completely useless on special teams. People want to cite his point totals compared to his ice time, but he still got wildly outshot and was a minus player even while playing against 4th liners and 3rd pairing defensemen. So, yeah, Stewart scores a fair amount compared to his ice time, but he's not clutch like LaRose, gives up more and gets significantly outchanced...while playing against the other team's worst players.
fixed

Which trophy do you get for leading the league in smiles?

The Heart trophy, but that one's overshadowed by the Hart. It's an assumption that LaRose wins it every year, so they don't even really award it.

I would vote for Ruutu for the Heart Trophy. His smile is honestly the only reason I was defending him in another thread . Can't help but like him.

It's Semin for me. Been here nearly a week now and STILL hasn't gotten us into the playoffs. Overrated.

At least we didn't trade our 3C, draft pick and Dumoulin for guy that has almost the same rate of pay and a 10 year contract, who STILL hasn't even played a game.

I hope we're not quoting this next year as an example of your psychic abilities.

You good with movies? I been trying to remember the name of that movie where Michael J. Fox goes back to the future, but it's been eluding me for about a week now.

You know that movie where Keanu Reeves had to keep the bus going at a certain speed, because if the bus went at a speed below whatever speed the bad guys programmed the bomb, the speed would make it blow up? I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down".

For ie, I remember when the Oiler's won the draft some guy on Sportsnet (name eludes me atm) said that "Columbus fans are devestated. All 12 of them."

Stuff like that is unmeritted and poor journalism. It's one thing to mock a rival or something, hell, even from Calgary, Alberta, I still poke fun at NC State fans (I went to ECU)

Q: Do you know what the average NC State student gets on their SAT's?

A: Drool.

Stuff like that is good natured fun and healthy, but when people needlessly hate on something for no reason other than it's not traditional, then it really irks me, and I'll die a happy man, if a Canadian team never wins a cup in my lifetime.
