I've seen this script a million times as a Jet fan...everything to play for, everything going your way only to choke it up in the most ghastly way possible.

And Rutgers pulls this too...losing to Cincinatti and WVU after the 'Miracle at Piscataway', losing last year when they could have won at least a share of the Big East and that crap loss last week.

Since then? 90-yard TD drive by Louisville and another turnover by Rutgers...hoo boy, here come the ghosts.
The fake field goal attempt was really good. The lineman down field thing is something that you see a lot though, even if it isn't called. I used to play lineman, even if it was when I was younger, and for some reason, you just think that field goals are different than a regular play. The mindset is just different, and I think the play was initially meant to be a running play.

It was amazingly a perfect lob pass on a play that could have been disasterous cause they had it covered decently enough, but yeah that wasn't as egregious as calling the other three passes. You have a good running game, why air it out every time up 11 with an erratic QB?

They've got no running game right now. Nova is throwing really well tonight.

They've had it in just about every other game this season, can't be totally one-dimensional. If Nova really has to win this game I'm not too confident although he should have given them the lead back on the last drive with that second-down throw.

And what happened to Rutgers' GREAT defense in the second half?

EDIT: Wow they just got really lucky on what should have been a 20-yard gain downfield into FG range, the QB overthrew it badly and it was picked off.

No pressure on QB. All the time in the world to wait for one guy to make a mistake in man-to-man and someones open. Then when the passing game opens up, the running game opens up.

Lousville QB has an injured ankle and a broken wrist. You send him down with a hard hit and he's out of the game, doesn't help when you fall for the same QB boot three times in a row on third down.

That's exactly what Rutgers needed.

He almost did on that last third down play but at least had more awareness than Sanchez and got out of the way to complete the pass

He kicked that pretty weird. It wasn't a hard kick, it was like a soft floater. I mean he hit it head-on, so I can't complain, but at first I was like "Oh ****." and then it straighten out.

We better kill this half cripple of a QB on this drive

****, that was a beautiful throw though.

Yet again, no pressure on Bridgewater. How many times has he got hit this game?

It's about ****ing time they've hit Bridgewater.

I don't know about you but if I was a Rutgers defensive player, I know I'd be aiming for that right arm. I'd want to do anything I could to get him to reinjure or just seriously hurt that arm. I mean, this game is crucial for Rutgers.

Bout goddamned time they brought pressure off the corner! First time since early second quarter he's tasted the turf

It's really simple - he can't move for ****. Bump and run in man and dial up a linebacker or a safety off the edge and make him either get rid of it right away or take a beating. If you can't get there in 3 seconds unblocked, no excuses - the corners should be able to bump and stick for that long no problem

Need to eat some clock and score here

That was all on the WR?

Nova hit the guy in his hands, the WR bobbled it and popped it up in the air. Nova made beautiful throw.

And Rutgers' defense collapsing again, wonderful. What a total freaking meltdown.

Looked to me like the guy had to jump three feet in the air, stretched for it and it was off his fingertips. I only half saw the play though.

EDIT: Well I was half right, he did have to jump in the air while moving laterally but it hit him in the chest. Still a bad throw to an open receiver when you have to make the guy jump for it.

No, the guy jumped in the air and it hit him in the chest. He bobbled it and he kicked it up with the knee, causing it to pop up in the air, and allowing the defender to intercept it. You've got to get that ball up above the first level and in between the second. He got it there and perfectly, the receiver should've caught that or at the very least, not fumbled it up in the air allowing a defender to catch it.

Wow that was a Sanchez moment. Fitting. This is why I couldn't get into Rutgers all season, I knew they'd **** it up.

Those are the moments when I don't know who to blame.

When I've played football, I know they did a lot of these things. They do the optional routes, and just a miscommunication, none of us will know if the WR was supposed to go upfield or not. Just sucks that the game has to end like that, it really does.
