Uhm did I just see Pierre McGuire commentating on water polo? The only positive of the hockey offseason is that I dont have to deal with Pierre and then I see this???

Yeah, they're using the hockey crew for water polo. I still love PMG, but yeah, the ass kissing is still there, I just laugh at it because it is funny to me but I can certainly understand how people find it abrasive.

Did the IOC announce they where going to give special medals for nuts shots during basketball because it sure seems like it. Chris Paul nut shots an Argentinian player, who in retaliation nut shots Carmelo Anthony

(why nut shot Melo? he didn't do it to you either get Chris Paul back or move on but come on Melo didn't do anything, I felt bad for him after seeing that, imagine some guys kicks your # because your friend slept with his girl)

now this play. I give this one the silver, the one Paul did the bronze and the one the Argentinan did to Melo the gold because he got Melo coming down after shooting so he was completely unguarded down there and his force made the hit worse.

I'm being a little over the top. He's annoying but I don't hate his guts like some people do. Who else has been covering water polo?

I think all beach volleyball is entertaining to watch. Takes so much athleticism to play at that high of a level.

Not seeing it either. Has an oddly shaped face and head, like somebody drew it on a boat while navigating choppy waters.

So boring to watch, even the women that are good looking.

Fun as hell to play, and really demanding of the body, but you couldn't pay me to watch it.

There is a news source out in the England area that can't legally show Olympic footage... so they're recreating it with Lego's. Really ****ing cool.

Woke up early to watch Brazil - Mexico. Am now being treated to speed walking. When the hell did that become an Olympic sport?

Well.... I have to admit, I did enter the barely caring stage for a few days, but I'm back to the not giving a **** stage regarding the Olympics.

Not looking forward to the NBC tape delay for the Sochi Olympics, though....

Even on delay most households still have the Olympics on. Do you really think they'd get better coverage with live 10 am coverage?

yes, because I know at least I and many of my friends don't bother watching events we may have otherwise watched because we got the results spoiled and there is other tv to watch later in the day. IMO, there's no good reason they shouldn't at least air big events live and then on tape delay later.

It's simple. Air it live and then replay the good stuff in prime time. I mean, they've got it on three or four channels, for crying out loud, plenty of air time to fill, especially on CNBC and MSNBC which nobody watches anyway.

Win-win, and they'd probably get better ratings, too. The people that want to see it live and not get spoiled get what they want, the people that don't care and just want to watch at a convenient time get what they want, and NBC gets what they want by having less need for filler.
