Gilmour played half a shift. It was one of the saddest moments I've ever experienced as a leaf fan. Worse then all the playoff exits I've seen.

Seeing a hump like Dave Lowry fall on him due to lack of skating ability and taking out his knee in such a flukey fashion. Made me sick and very sad.

What I wouldn't give to see Mighty Mats play with Kessel and Lupul. Oh well.

Quinn built those teams on exactly what we are missing, star center, premier goaltending, intense forechecking.

All the things our teams lacks severely. What we have is what Quinn needed. Depth scoring from the wing and a real 1D.

Come to think of it, sub in Kessel and Lupul with Mats, and Dion on the top pairing with Yuskevich on the early Quinn teams.

- You can only choose former players from 2000 til now.

Bryan McCabe or Tomas Kaberle?
Darcy Tucker or Tie Domi?
Ed Belfour or Curtis Joseph?
Joe Nieuwendyk or Eric Lindros?

Would you take McCabe over Phaneuf?
Kaberle over Gardiner?
Mogilny over Kessel?
Nieuwendyk over Kadri?
How is Nieuwendyk vs. Kadri even fair?

Because the question isn't prime Joe Nieuwendyk vs Kadri. The question is post 2000 Maple Leaf Joe Nieuwendyk vs Kadri. Which in this case is a clearly coming to the end of his career Nieuwendyk vs an up and coming Nazem Kadri.

That makes the question more interesting imo.
