Overall boring game... But i would be fine with it, if we gained 3pts there... But again, one minute of weakness and Kronwall just makes fools out of all our defense.
Glad that Dzerins and Meija scored a nice goal.
And now about bad thing: Nizivijs looked horrible all games so far... And now, when he had a chance to rehabilitate himself in a way, we all think he does best - shootout, he again did what i saw 5 times before, 1st time he does what he do every time, i dont think there is a goalie in KHL who did not know this move. And then 2nd time he tries to surprise goalie with fast shot between the legs. But this two moves failed every time i sawed them. Too bad Nizivijs did not learn anything.
O

I think he's too old to learn anything anymore, we just have to w8 till he retires from DR.
A two-way center, Szczechura is better defensively than offensively. He is a very good skater and faceoff man.
Lacks size and aggression. Isn't a natural scorer.
Didn`t see the game but loss was excpected,as i said PO`s are unreachable this season, happy for Indrašis and Daugaviņš who scored his first in KHL
DR did not look bad, Koval' was great in net, or at least safe and aware. Riga just got caught off guard after scoring the second, Torpedo made it 3-2 in like 10 seconds I think.

Yeah as always.. and as always only 2 goals scored, what a suprise.

they had 44 shots on net I think - that's a good stat
Koval' was very solid for Torpedo
anyway I'm sure DR will make the playoffs again, and probably get past the first round

If just feel bad for Jučers and Telly. They haven't had a bad game yet and don't deserve to have the W/L record they have (oops, forgot about that 5 goal game which I missed, so I don't really know how much of it had to do with Telly). I'm sure the offense will wake up at some point. I don't think the playoffs are out of reach at all, but they really have to solve this scoring drought sooner than later. Nice to see Daugy get his first KHL goal today though.

Really, Opulskis?
Haha, I guess the answer to our goal drought is to prevent our opponents from scoring.
Fact which can not be overlooked is that this guy was solid scorer in the AHL, can play wing and is right hand shot. Now, talking about Riga's wingers with a right hand shot
Some changes possible in 2 and 3rd lines.
Nizivijs really has no place - unless he is to play in the fourth line (little use), he cannot bump anyone from the first three lines, unless someone starts to seriously underperform.
Not sure if Schremp is the best fit on the third line (a bump up to the second, but in whose place - Daugavins?)

Daugava can play both wings, so maybe have an all import line of Schremp, Szczechura and Giroux, bump Meija down to the fourth line and have Sasha play with Jerry and Daugy (or exchange Giroux and Kaspars). While Nizivijs is definitely on the decline, he's still considerably better than most of the current bottom 6.

No... just no, hes NOT better,he slow, thinks slow acts slow with the puck, yes hes skilled but his days on this kind of level are counted,he just play in VHL or something.

This looks about right. When Daugaviņš leaves, schremp takes his place.
Riga seems to always chase 4th line NHL forwards for imports. Why didn't they just stick with Iggulden/Hartigan? Give them a few years to develop some chemistry and they could have been solid top 6 players. Every year they seem to try new guys... Now looking like Shremps lack of speed/intensity is catching up with him.

Bad GM, and lack of money are among reasons, but even if he had money we would still make stupid decision because istead of a a GM we have - Opuļskis.
I'm not sure about Iggulden, but Hartigan was really deterioating with every season in KHL, at the time everyone was sure that we could do better.
Iggulden was more a playmaker with Riga, I remember liking what I saw from him with Riga. Also Hartigan did deteriorate, however switching teams every year did not help. I still think its better than what they have now. I guess we'll have to wait and see until the end of the season... My bets are Shremp is first to go.
