Stay-at-home defensemen, never get the credit they're due. Very few get inducted into the HoF and even if they are they are never included in talks about the "greatest". Rod Langway immediately comes to mind. Doug Harvey, Marcel Pronovost, Tom Johnson, Harry Howell are some old-timers that never get the recognition they deserve around here IMO.
Guys like Brad McCrimmon, JG Talbot, Terry Harper, Craig Ludwig, Mike Ramsey, Petr Svoboda, Bobby Baun, Bill Hajt, Rod Seiling, Don Awrey, etc.....are all lost in the shuffle because their offensive stats lack in comparison to their flashier counterparts.
Adam Oates comes to mind immediately. You can ask anyone in Boston who he is, they won't know him at all, let alone know he got 142 points...
Maybe depending on what age they are.. i grew up watching him at the end of his b's days.. and as a kid loved what he said about the management and the team before he got shipped out of here. A lot of people forget the point totals he put up.
