Love it. Despite what most on here seem to believe, he's going to be a big part of this team next year and going forward.

I was ok with moving him for a Forward.

Now I welcome him with open arms and look forward to him being a piece of our core when we make our run.

Thanks for wanting to stay, Toby!

Didn't see this one coming in terms of any leaks. There was a time I was open to dealing Enstrom for a top 6 forward, but given Chevy addressed needs in other ways, I am extremely happy right now to have Enstrom signed and likely locked up.

Can't wait to see the terms.

One of my favorites. Great signing. Anything under $6.5 is a steal IMO.

Now that the contract is taken care of all they have to do is get him away from Byfuglien and the Jets will be in the playoffs.

I think this would be a good move. His game looks really stymied when he spends all night covering up for the big guy.

Wow, definitely was not expecting to hear about an extension for Enstrom at this point.

Nothing released on terms yet, but Toby did say this,

Quote:

Toby: Wanted to stay. Happy we got it done early on. Happy I'm going to be a Winnipeg Jet for a number of years to come.
I am going to guess 4-5 years, 5.5-5.75 per year.

Completely agree. Pair Toby with Bogosian and Hainsey with Byfuglien. Or, find a defenceman who is pretty well a 100% pure defensive defenceman who can log solid minutes and simply cover Buff's ass.

Not his biggest fan. Nice to get this done early in the summer, hopefully no more than $6M per, maybe a little less

Here are a round-up of some Enstrom quotes from the conference call. We will have Chevy's thoughts up in 20.

Do people actually watch the Jets play. The opposition's plan when Enstron and Buff are on the ice is to dump into Enstrom's corner. The guy is weak in the corners and the other team knows it. It is just something he has to deal with. I would say Buff when he isn't being stupid offensively is a much better defensive player on the virtue of his size then Enstrom is. That is when he isn't being stupid

Safe to say Enstrom loves playing for the Jets, in Winnipeg and his teammates.

Despite my critique of Toby in the past, these are the guys we want here. He wants to be here and that bodes well for the future of the organization.

I respectfully disagree.

I'm afraid I may have to ask you the same initial question, because the only time I can recall when Buff actually used said size was the first preseason game on his first shift.

Absolutely great move by Chevy,This puts him in a place of power regarding Toby if we decide we need to move him down the road chevy will be in a much better bargaining position and it show's that players actually want to play in winnipeg because Toby was set up to go where ever he would like next year with a big payday.

awww don't remind me of that shift. I thought I was in for the best season by a defencemen ever.
